I have moved from a 2006 V8 manual to a 2010 V12 manual. I absolutely love the V12, the sound, the torque, the outright power. Looking at man maths to keep both... 😂
discussion idea for the podcast. reliability between the v12 and v8 vantage db9 vs dbs etc. I'd like to hear all the experts weigh in. another great video
Squealing is a problem with these, to the point where Aston issued a factory service bulletin to apply paste to the back of the pads to prevent it They can sqeal for a number of reasons. Mainly the pads and disks not bedded in correctly. Which for the most part (90% of owners) is the reason because they will never get the disks up to temperature driving to the shops like miss daisy. Look cool, good marketing, but not really relevant on a road car or indeed a track if the owner cannot drive to the full potential of a steel brake
Just a point (not to contradict but to add) is that my V8 Vantage S came with the same front end, rear valance and rear deck spoiler (and probably side skirts) as the V12 there. The V12S might be different again, not sure.
I think initially there were more of a separation, but as the years progressed and they were trying to extract more sales out of different models they started to apply all the 'top spec' details to lesser specced cars
@@CorpsMedia when the V8S was introduced, it took on most of the styling that the previously introduced V12 had, as well as the 6 pot brakes, etc. Most of that then got applied to the regular V8 in 2012.25. Then when the V12S came out, it took on some new styling as well as retaining the previous V12 hood
Coming from a DB9 (V12) I just love the sound and the tractability of that 6 litre V12 unit - BUT the lighter weight of a 4.7 V8 Vantage will make that car a more rounded and more versatile car overall for MOST folks. But just for ME, I'd still have a V12 anytime!!
It's pretty hard for the mic to be both quiet enough for the decat of the car not to clip the max allowance and then for it to be high enough for you to able able to hear me. Thanks for the feedback
