So after getting new bumpers for this car i felt like it was missing something.. This video we test fit side skirts and a spoiler both from a GSI model astra.. Enjoy!

Re Spraying. Go to B&Q and get some plastic dust sheets. 1 pack is big enough for a living room !. Tape up the sheet in your shed to cover the bench, walls, etc. Then you can put the side skirts on your bench to spray. If its getting colder next week might want to put a heater on to warm up the shed to like 25c. The Finish Is in the Preparation !!. Rub down, and degrease the surface with prep solvent. Then lay down a thin undercoat first.

Nice Video as always! Keep up the work on the Astra, I wonder how it will look like in the end. Saying one thing about the plastic parts: I drive a Corsa like yours, but pre-facelift, so I have big parts of the exterieur unpainted. To keep that plasticparts black and prevent them from getting grey I use Meguiars Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer. You can get stuff like this from every car product brand, and most of them will be cheaper than freakin Meguiars, but the effect is really nice and helps the car to look fresh.

If you have got it in your budget mate I would suggest a full wrap... dont even need to bother respraying bits and pieces then...... can choose any colour on the spectrum and would look sickkkkk 😍

Try grinding the locator pin off the spoiler, saves drilling holes in the car.

Cos it's meant for a larger bootlid hence astra tailgate is smaller area I'd kept the original spoiler

When you lined your shed inside, did you use insulation between the wood and shed? Also is it warm and worth doing?

Just get regular rolls of attic insulation, cheap and cheerful, but messy stuff. Or you can go for Salmon Board, which comes in sheets that you can cut with a long sharp knife or a saw, but are like 4x the price

like the content but i have a gripe:- the camera is slow to focus or your too quick showing things up close and cant make it out. when you fitted the spoiler was there enough room to move it an inch forward looked close, and it was sat quite high up aswell

I need to unmount and mount back my side skirts. As they are the stock ones, once i pop in the pressure clips, how can i put it back in the original postion?

John Golightly you can’t dry oil out by warming it up. The plastic fades due to oxidisation and using a heat gun melts the plastic and brings it back to a similar state that it originally came as.

Great videos, but it does beg the question. Why waste time on a cheap dull car in the first place and spend time money and sweat trying to make it look 'stylish' when you can acquire a cheap stylish and better car of the same value relatively easily these days.

I loved my AStra MK4 and I spent loads of time and money on it because it was just a fun thing to do and I liked how it looked, just like now I'm restoring a 1995 renault 19 1.4 lol worth absolutely fuck all to anyone else except me. I love the look of this guys astra wish I could have done the gsi bodykit on mine when I had it

The Savage Garage you’re not alone. I’m currently in the process of painting my fiesta side skirts. Ones painted, one was painted but fell off the wall while still wet, so now it’s being painted again but it has runs in the primer so need to sort that out 😂 plus it keeps raining on my days off, not going my way

Hi James, ive commented in other videos, im from Nottingham, and was wondering if you wanted any assistance doing anything in your cars, and in return, could you diagnose a problem on my Vauxhall Zafira 2.0dti, as I get a cluck when letting up the clutch when in gear, or when going along accelerating and decelerating, but only does it after warming up.
