Hi, Mordian! A returner to the Warhammer universe here. Used to play Fantasy, but stopped after someone destroyed all my High elf miniatures in a mental break. I couldn't stomach the loss, and I didn't touch wargaming for over a decade. I've started returning to tabletop by dipping my toes into 40k, and watching your videos has given me so much inspiration and excitement to get back into a long-forgotten hobby! Many thanks for your battle reports, stories, and all over mentality towards the game. It's great to see your banter and glee in cheering on the guard to lock bayonets and charge forward! I hope to one day see you on the battlefield!

The anti-infantry 2 into -1 to wound was played wrong. Any anti-X Y weapon counts as a critical hit (so basically a 6), if it is targeting X unit type and you roll Y or higher. -1 to wound doesn't affect anti-X attacks. Also, Crowe should technically be on a 40mm base now, as that is what his new model has.

Who cares about Base sizes. I own GKs. I have a squad of strikes on 25mm bases. Who cares. They’re getting rebased at some point to fit in with my army. But it’s not a priority.

Size of base matters for range of auras, number of units able to engage in combat, etc.

Models must be on the bases they were supplied with. Both Crowe and strikes originally came with 25mm, especially the metal ones.

I’ve just started 10th, so I don’t know if it changed, but the anti-keyword means unmodified wound rolls of x+ are critical wounds. Basically it sends devastating wounds out at super low rolls.

Last edition, playing against them with my Guard (8th Codex - the best one), they were great and fun games - but, they were very heavy games and it was almost hopeless. Some of the most memorable games ever.

Am I missing something? The inquisition squad took a lot to kill, but it did die, and nothing was really in a position to shoot anywhere else that would have mattered anyway, and the final charge didn't wind up mattering at all, as the tank shock cleared enough that the tanks took the objective?

The missplays were strong in this one. basilisk wounds paladins on 4s, not 3s, cuz of their passive. You forgot a bunch plasma hazardous rolls I think, if not, that plasma didn't wound on 2s (not that it matter because you rolled all 1s lol). It was a fun game to watch tho

Also, cover saves aren't model by model, the entire unit gets cover if any of them do. He's been playing that wrong the whole edition

Very nice battle report. I’m sure you corrected yourself in retrospect, but you obviously can’t take more than 2 Inquisitorial Henchmen units with any Imperium factions (2 characters and 2 retinue units for a 2000pts list). The only way to have more is to choose Agents of the Imperium as a faction. No special rules, no Enhancement, no special Stratagems, but you can take all the Inquisitors and Assassins you want, plus 3 Inquisitorial Henchmen blobs, and even a Warhound Titan if you dare !

"Can you fuck off" is ok, but you can't change your movement if he Mists of Deimos out. That goes against what the Strat does and renders it null.

Love the content! Another great battle report! I have a rules question about the Catachan's 3+ save. I understand that it comes from a combination of cover and take cover, but in the rule book it says that a save cannot be increased by more than +1. So, is this a similar interaction to hitting on 3+ by adding +1 to hit and +1 to BS? Thanks for clearing this up for me!! Keep up the great work!

Yes, Take Cover improves the save characteristic by 1 while the benefit of cover gives +1 to the armour save

Yep got that part. The part I was confused about is pg. 22 of the rule book says that an armour save can’t be improved by more than +1. I wanted to know if there was an interaction I wasn’t aware of.

@@morgantownsend3244 the save characteristic is not the saving throw, like the ballistic skill is not the to hit roll. The Order modifies the characteristic (either Save or Ballistic in Take aim). this does not count as +1 on the appropriate dice trow.

Like everyone else, love the batrep(s). The Hydra has always been my fav guard armour, but think 10th has done it bad. Those 4 shots should have been 6 or reduce the cost by 15pts.

Good lord, you forgot the +1 to hit when damaged and +1 to wound at half strength for the Purifiers! And your - 1 to wound doesn't work against anti infantry 2+ 😉
