@5:02 I may be alone on this but when it comes to roguelite's this is exactly the type of gameplay I want to see. Showing early gameplay where everything is locked out and options are scarce sometimes makes games look less appealing then they really are. Seeing a mid-late run character with stacks of upgrades and perks is the perfect way to showcase what a game like this has on offer at least to me
Backed this on kickstart and I'm so glad it's become something amazing. Literally my favorite rogue-like game out there. I just love fighting the zodiacs and meeting the signs that you get along best with ☺️ I cannot wait for the next character to come out.
I swear Splatt, half the games in my steam library are your fault lol, putting this one on my wishlist, thanks for the spotlight and the commentary. Been following for a long time and always love the reviews.
as someone who has 100+ hrs into this game. I'd highly recommend you to get your attackspeed up cus it builds your mana way quicker. Multiple hitting skills combined with x% on hit effect imbuements is always great and satisfactory..(imagine seeing 6x thunderstrikes hitting down cus of multiple hits)
Honestly I was expecting Hades 2 to fulfill my roguelike needs this year but Astral Ascent does it instead. Very solid game and doesn't steal features from others, just made their own approach to a fan concept of modern roguelikes.
Game is amazing. Have 200 plus hours into it. Def best 1.0 of 2023. But have to give some props to Blazblue Entropy Effect and Oblivion Override, which are top tier rogues in EA.
I started playing a couple days ago and needed to know that Splatt played it, not because of how good it is, but because it doesn't have damage on contact lol
I didn't think I liked roguelites until hades ( iwas a big transistor fan and gave it a shot) and it ended up being my favorite game of the last decade or so. I'll give this one a shot.
I was looking for a good game in the style of Hades, and this is absolutely what I was looking for. Splattercat's recommendation is spot on. I would certainly say it is worth the price of admission.
Pixel Art games are one of the most beautiful forms of art. I'd take that over triple a lifelike realistic graphics any day. Not to mention there is something about Pixel Art games that effect the gameplay in a special way you just dont get from triple A
So, this one is roguelite meets bullethell upgrading? Looks like bullethell bosses too, actually. The art looks quite good, it's got that late 90s early 00s 12-16bit colors pixel art vibe.
I like it, but for me, I'm into stuff like Doomsday Hunters a bit more. I bought both last week, becauze for the past 2 weeks, I have basically been hopping on the Nintendo store and PSN+ and buying roguelikes like fuckin groceries. I am definitely going to put much more time into this, though, and I predict I'm probably going to enjoy it more as I play and unlock more stuff.
played for 3 hours and im not hocked at all, my worst problem with the game is the feeling when you hit an enemy, feels like hitting a sponge with a straw…, but I will try again later this evening
