They're good but they don't always hit the mark. Neir Automata's combat was easily it's weakest part. If people didn't enjoy the story as much as they did, that game would've been dragged through the mud.
@@bootsthegod9084 that's true but when u think about it that was the focus to begin with. The way that game was structured mad with difficult to put in a bayonneta style combat system. They are not perfect I agree but they are one of the best when u wants a solid action combat systems that run smooth. They also are not afraid to try new things with their systems like the investigations here.
NileSings The Legend of Korra had the the B Team working on it,not the A Team that mostly does Bayonetta,Nier Automata,etc etc,so it should have been obvious that The Legend of Korra was gonna end up being bad
No they do exclusives with other game companies so this time nintendo go their turn but no way they are gonna sell to nintendo when they have made other exclusives and multiplats with others like PS4 and the very small xbox one and pc. Look at Nier Automata how it was exlcusive for a year or two then went to other platforms. That is where they make their money to sell on PS4 and then the others. Some exclusives like this and bayonetta is all you get which is fantastic for switch users but not gonna buy platinum lol
Did you not listen to the review? Maybe you’d be better off reading it instead. He mentioned two negatives. Are you really getting bent out of shape over an 8? I didn’t realize an 8 was a bad score. It’s definitely more than it deserves from what I’ve seen in other more detailed reviews.
It's exactly the score I was expecting after watching this video. He mentioned what a missed opportunity it was to not let the main character speak, which I can totally see as a huge negative that can easily take me out of the story.
@@holamoco The last God of War was a 9.5 for me it isn't a 10 imo. The boss fights are a step down from the last games. I can't speak about the last of US. I have never played it. I avoid Zombie games.
@@NRLR89 I would prefer it if you don't call me honey. I don't even know you man... Anyways God of War has won goty over Red Dead Redemption 2 because of the fucked up pacing.of that game. God of War isn't a 10 but also not a 9. I can't even bring myself to replay it. It has no replay value and the boss are just ok. Still a great 9.5 for me.
Brianna Wong I’d give a 9.0. You’re right the boss were incredibly stale. With Amazing fights and versatility of the valkyries, why the fuck did we fight trolls like 50 times? With all the creatures in Norse mythology why are trolls the majority of the bosses? Really disappointed in bosses.
@@wiseguy240Winston "best" is subjective, everyone has different tastes. If you want to talk numbers technically switch does. Switch has the highest rated and best selling exclusives of the generation.
It's mainly because of the story. Reviewers like to have great stories in games for Some reason, but every reviewer has their own opinion, so I respect it. In my eyes it looks more of a 9.5!
@@theafricantriforce8878 Dude but reviews can hurt game sales same thing has happened with Kid Icarus Uprising in the west. It only got perfect scores in Japan and average scores in the west. Astral Chain is a 9 nuff said.
@@briannawong9034 ok, you do got a point there. Kid icarus uprising is my 2nd favorite Nintendo franchise! They did do that game bad. It was nearly perfect.
This game deserves the same 10/10s Bayonetta 2 received, as most are claiming it’s the better game. I guess it’s easier to admit a game is a masterpiece when the platform it’s on isn’t a viable threat (Wii U). Food for thought.
Its not bad at all, though i can understand after watching the review. He talks very positively about it that it does not reflect an 8, more a 9 atleast. But it doesnt matter, every reviewer is highly positive and for some people an 8 is as much of an value as a 9(if that makes sense), its still subjective at the end.
What an awful review. No word about handheld/docked differences, is it blurry/fps drops in handheld? No word about overall performance. You HAVE to inform about these things when you review a switch game.
@@ocidax it's not DF, you're right! but Vladimir has a point. Performance & Stability should be a section of any decent review on any system. Switch even more so with its differing performance across docked & handheld. This has become even more important with the Switch Lite not having the docked option.
As someone who almost dropped the game I got to say it's not bad it's no devil may cry our bayanetta but it definitely got style and once you unlock every stand you can do crazy combos
This is what I never get about GameSpot, even when they're apparently praising a game from end to end the score still never goes up above an 8 or 8.5.. And this has been going for so long now that it's become rather tedious actually.
This is a good review, of a dude that actually understands the combat mechanics. Mojoplays in the other hand, is a fucking joke of a review, of a dude that mistakes freeze framing when hitting something (something that is done on purpose since who know when!) with frame drop issues XD
Best reviews I’ve seen for the game so far is New Game Plus and GameXplain. This one at least attempted to elaborate on the game’s issues, but not enough. IGN’s review was downright horrible.
After playing, deserve a 9 at least. New game new style new licence and so mutch pleasure. Today make a new license is hard, defenetly give a 10 for me

Seen lots of people mention it- and I think the reason character building takes a backseat in this game is because Platinum and Nintendo plan for this to be a trilogy series.. so the characters can develop over time, perhaps
First off from other reviewers they said is simply easy I dont see how hes saying it's in dept also the the side quests are more interesting then the story so what was so 8/10 for this kind of game I'm not hating on platinum games but this game thou
Wasn’t waiting for this game. Played first 3 chapters because why not. Don’t believe these 9/10 scores, its an absolute 10/10. Seriously, i havent had so much fun in years. Great plot (quite cliche but still strong) + deep and stylish combat followed by Hideki Kamiya cutscenes :)
Horribly undecided as to whether i'm going to buy this or not. I love hack n slash but I am not a hardcore gamer that likes high difficulty and dying over and over. I only like hack n slash when it is button mashy (opposite of "true" gamers I guess). Platinum games claims there's an easier difficulty that "let's the player just enjoy the story". Yet all the reviews say there is strategy and tactics involved and you can't just mash buttons. Well which is it?
I don't know why some of ya'll get so salty over a SCORE. If you know it's a good game, why get bothered by a number? You lot need to grow up lol The game is highly praised and everyone loves it. A number isn't gonna affect the popularity at all...
This review was very confusing. Rather than speaking generally about all of the aspects of the game, I would have liked more description on select aspects, particularly those that the reviewer found very good or not very good. It's not very helpful when the reviewer talks about themes that the story touches on. I haven't played Bayonetta or Nier Automata so there's nothing left for me to compare it to based on this review.
