For those who weren't around during this meta, the krieg was $2750, shot at the same rate as a M4A4 (667RPM) and could 3 shot kill to the stomach at quite far ranges. This made the game INCREDIBLY T-sided at the time. This was Faze's map pick and they got 16-0'd with these Kriegs...
Faze and few other teams were generally known for hating the kireg/aug meta and outright refused to buy those weapons, and this game was during a time where T's rarley bought the krieg, because if CT's got their hands on it, it was game over.
@@Argdut1106 what you expect lol the team's peak is temporary(see vitality struggling now)and team changes also has big impact! Tho Faze deserves 1 more major haha
The funny thing is is that this is a 'stronger' Faze in a sense of star power IMO than what we have today, coldzera wasn't far off his insane prime, Niko...is Niko, olof was still good a legend with a infinite knowledge of the game and a great ''support'' along with rain and the breakout potential star in broky, (still there today, so shows those 2 weren't the weakest part by far), yet they're ranked #1 now aren't they and about to overtake Astralis as most time spent as #1 and longest streak there. Guess it shows how important team synergy is or something? Or just how unpredictable CS is. Maybe this is just my out of touch head speaking but I feel Faze haven't come close to replicating Astralis dominance relatively speaking, not even close. Words can't express how OP that Astralis core were. Literally so OP games weren't even ''fun'', or ''exciting'' -- they were BORING. People would legit rage and say ''fine, I'm watching no more of this major, Astralis to win 2-0 every time or 3-0 in BO5's and.....they were usually right". That is to me is like the ultimate compliment looking back. Didn't matter how many HLTV winners you try pivot in a team against them you're fucked and they're probably not dropping a map across consecutive major events. (obviously this game was even then kind of LOL wtf but not exactly completely crazy for Astralis)
As some teams havent leart yet, putting 5 star players doesnt make a good team. You need a good igl+coach, chemistry and roles to make sense. Most current example being Astralis missing the Copenhagen major.
@@supaygato I wonder today if you put that Astralis core back together they could work it out. I know Xyp seemed to fall off entirely over Covid, and Glaive had a baby which impacts performance but seems to be doing okay now (believe me, my kid lets me do nothing, but I suppose they’d go “to work” and out the household), but man part of me wants to see that core beck with zonic, just to see what they can do. You’re right though, this faze was just HLTV stars stacked together. To use a sport analogy it’s like putting Messi, Mbappe, Haaland, Kane and Ronaldo on the same five a side team coached by me, but expecting them to defend against a prime Spain with guys like Pique, Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets, coached by Guardiola. That was Astralis. They will just cook you slowly with excellent teamwork, negate your gameplay entirely and you won’t get the ball from them all game. Boring, 1-0 wins like Spain? Sure, but the passing was gorgeous to watch sometimes and they set the meta at the time, just like Astralis.
@@RifleEyez Sadly don't see the lineup coming back, specially as Xyp9x seems to be moving to coaching, he is right now analyst for Mouz, most likely getting prepared to be the coach in the future.
Genuinely not watched pro CS regularly since that Astralis core split. So dominant they transcended ''exciting'', and were calling boring. I felt the exact opposite about it. All that over Device moving to Sweden for pussy and Covid. Only Astralis could kill themselves.
This just goes to show how important synergy and an igl are in CS. I don't know how Niko can be so stupid to kick Karrigan after one upset loss only to waste the next 3 years of Faze Clan playing like dogshit. Looking back at those 2019 2020 matches the calls are horrible and Niko who is supposed to be the star player can't focus on aiming. Roster changes after roster changes with no success I'm glad Niko finally realized he was the problem and left. His only legacy being introducing Broky. Now Niko is also doing dogshit in G2 also XD.
