@@xor1ch yes it does work on series x. Not through digital output but through usb. You might have to update to the latest firmware on the Astro command center app. The dolby app on xbox recognizes the license in the base station and it just works. I have the mixamp pro tr for my hyperx cloud orbit s on xbox
@@xor1ch I have Astro A50 they work via update if they didn't either would the A40s or lot's of headsets they just did a firmware update to work via USB
download update from astro command center and make sure your mixamp is in pc mode when you connect it to your laptop/computer. Make sure the side of the cord for your headset that has 4 black rings goes in the headset side 2) make sure you have it usb plugged into the back of xbox for me it only works in the middle port that accepts usb. 3) all cables must be fully plugged in. 4) THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT. HARD RESET YOUR XBOX. (YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE YOUR AUX PORT AT ALL TO MAKE IT WORK. You do not need to plug anything into your controller. 5) Once you are booted back up after the reset it should recognize your headset. Make sure you flip the switch back into xbox mode after your pc update. You can use your aux port for auxing music now and still use a mic simultaneousy. This is what i did to make it work. I even made a video even tho i never have posted before because this was so frustrating at first

@6doorshop david buy the play station one if using it for playstation. Buy the xbox/pc one if youre using those. One is blue for playstation the other green
The surround icon on mixamp should be turned off not on. If it's on it messes up with the Atmos. Even in xbox settings it says turn off any other enhancements that comes with your headphones
I can tell you don't know what you're talking about. What you're referring to is "Using HDMI audio headset" you only check this box off if your headset is connected to your TV or soundbar...

@@RobbieEgelstad they don't have option for Atmos on mixamp. What they do have is the button for their own surround sound option, but for that you need to be connected through optical cable. For example i have Xbox series X and it has no optical connection and i just connected my mixamp with USB so there is no point pressing that surround button.

So why would you want this if you are not going to use it as a mixer? Can you plug in a PC to the AUX input and then use it to chat on discord but still hear game audio and game chat?
i held off on these for my series x bc i’ve heard the audio quality is garbage thru the usb and not optical (next gen has no optical audio). could you please let me know if this is the case? btw, i am currently using gen 2 astro a50s
I can assure you the sound quality is really good, maybe it was this firmewear update. But it is really really good. The fact you are getting atmos enabled is something else. Even thou the Mixamp Pro has optical out, the next gen consoles do not.
I assure you it is NOT good. I'm a competitive FPS gamer on Call of Duty and I had to switch back to my old headset until I get a audio extractor so I can use the optical audio cable.. do your research before buying.

Not true. They're awesome. The only thing you have to do is make sure you go on the dolby app on your Xbox and select the custom mode. If you use it straight out of the box without adjusting the app I agree they're horrible. But gotta adjust the dolby!
Ok so I have the older version of the tr mixamp pro that came with surround sound. It has a surround sound button but it seems that button is useless now since i'm using just the usb cable. Does this mean I have to pay for surround sound now?
You actually do not want the Dolby setting on from the amp with the Headphones set to Dolby Atmos on the Xbox. Let the Xbox do the heavy lifting for your headphones.
It seems a bit counterintuitive, but this is correct. The Dolby button on the Mixamp is if you don't have the Dolby app/the media you are using doesn't support it and its basically an upscaler/virtual Dolby. So if you have the app and the media/game you are listening to supports it the Dolby button on the MixAmp should be set to the star icon, which means passthrough to, like you said, let the Dolby app/xbox do the spatial surround sound processing. Otherwise the sound will be getting processed twice and sound bad.
i tried everything possible to run on my Xbox series x and I could not, it's a bummer because i really like this headset( I have another for PS5) But is so frustrated to try to run this on the Xbox.

So I just got the A40s (used to have the A50s gen 3) and the mix amp to go with. For some reason I’m getting soubd, but it doesn’t recognize my mic anymore. Any tips?
THESE ARE A BAD CHOICE FOR SERIES X! They have a clicking echo that comes back every time you turn the Xbox off and back on. It can be temporarily fixed by unplugging the charging/transmitting station from its power source, but it will come back the next time you power off the Xbox. This was NOT an issue on Xbox One. Lack of optical audio means you have to go into settings and play with Atmos to get on par quality as a simple plug and go cable. I love these because they're otherwise great, but I wish I could go back and not get them.

So I recently got this headset and when I try to download the firmware update my mix Amp pro is now stuck on bootloader mode and is blinking red all the time. How do I fix this?
Is no one gonna adress the issue where you cant use this mixamp for 2 inputs anymore?? i bought this Specificly to listen to pc and xbox at the same time and i could on the previous xbox. But now when you use the usb on the xbox, you wont hear any audio until you unplug the digital out to your pc....... so what the hell.... next gen console takes a leap backwards...
wrong, dont enable Dolby on mixamp. You are getting mixed up signals. you let dolby atmos do the simulated sound only. mixamp is useless since there is no toslink. Astro gaming firmware is for the USB to transport virtual sound.
So tell me if I’m wrong do they not have a power button and do I have to unplug it from the Xbox I unplug it from the mix and pro every time or just unplug the whole power

@@TechinaSec101 I figured it out. After the new console came out, Astro came out with a new firmware update. The update allows you to get voicechat and game audio from the usb. Optical cable no longer needed after update. I think the volume is like 20% less loud but still works just fine.
I had this issue for a week on my series x, audio was trash. I used my one x for like a week after I got the new one lol. I purchased the PS5 astro HDMI adapter and my a40’s work the same as Xbox one x with Dolby Atmos. I don’t think it’s 4K with the adapter. Astro says the firmware update has no issues but it does

Hi, Its Dolby Atmos not 7.1 surround. You dont have Atmos with 7.1, How ever their is only 2 speakers in the head phones so its virtual atmos ( but works amazing and it feels like its a 5.4.2 )

I have these with the Series X and without the optical port, it’s horrible sound quality. Horrendous through Atmos and is best used through Stereo Uncompressed which means any standard headset is now the same as these sets. You cannot use the mixamp to change the EQs in the command centre as all sound is the same. If you have an Xbox one X, this is the best headset out. Series X, anything will be the same or better than these.
This is so accurate dude. I am PISSED about this, my almost $300 headset sounds like shit. Idk how people are thinking these sound good on the new consoles? Sounded great on my Xbox one X
same. I had both a40s and 50s. sold my 40s but they're borderline useless without the optical cord. can't get any sound direction whatsoever. now I'm trying to find a headset that actually sounds as good as they did on the series x
Idk if this will still be helpful but Astro make a HDMI converter for ps5 however it works perfectly on the series x. It allows you to use the mixamp through the optical port so you get audio just like it was on the previous gen consoles

No they specifically make them different. Since you can only switch it from pc to xbox mode on one. You have to buy the pc to playststion one. Same price. Buy the playstation one

Hook up the usb to the back of the series x and hook up the optical input from tv to base station, I have my usb from series x to base station, optical from tv to base station abs optical from base station to my receiver incase I want to watch a movie I can play sound through my 7 in wall and ceiling speakers.

I got the series S recently and am using my mix amp and A40s with it and it doesn’t sound as good as it did with my Xbox one. I got the optical cable and everything but it still doesn’t sound as good as it did. :(
Hey, Correct the optical cable is still king, however they are working on getting the USB cable to handle the quality of the optical cable. It shouldnt be long now :)
