I’ve had A40s for almost 6 years now and they still look, feel, and perform as brand new. Getting around 3 hours of use a day. Best piece of technology I’ve ever owned

Just bought my 2nd pair today had my other pair for 10 years and they finally stopped working it was a no brainer to get them again instead of looking for other brands and one of the only headsets I’ve used that doesn’t hurt the side of my head with glasses on after an hour which it the main thing for me

I just grabbed a pair of A40s with the previous generation mixamp for 80 bucks and they work great!! Really happy with the find, especially since Astro still seems to support them with replacement parts on the website :)

I've had a variety of headphones over the year as a gamer and I gotta say, When I put these headphones Sometimes I don't even notice their own. It's so immersive, and doesn't annoy my years. 10/10. To fix the battery draining feature, just use wired.

Had my pair of Astros since they first came out, both my brother and mum used them before me. Audio is still great as ever, comfort is still remarkable - I'll be using them since 9am to 3-4am some days and I never get a headache or sore ears after wearing them. Only now having some issues after they've been dropped and banged around but will be buying another pair as other headsets just cant keep up with the audio and comfort. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve had the same Astro a40 since 2014 and they still work like a champ, I love hearing my friends that buy a new headset every year, I just laugh because they chose the wrong one, don’t ask me how they still work but they do

Nah same I got my Astro a40s from 2016 and all I’ve done is change out the cushions. Got the noise cancelling tags and all that when I bought it and they still working perfectly

I’ve had two cheap ones but my friends keep saying anytime I turn my mic on, they hear buzzing noise. And IDK why that happens. I’ve tried searching for solutions but nothing. Can you recommend a good headset for ps5? Thank you

I’ve own A40s for many years still work and when a40 tr came out got those and still working like a charm. It’s definitely worth the money when I paid full price for both but never regretted it only equipment that last a very long time. Only downside was the wire hook up to it otherwise perfect

Still have my original A40s I bought in 2012. The only reason I'm watching this is because I JUST NOW am shopping for a new headset these have held up for so long. Astro's are great and super durable.

Yes I have had mine since december 2020 and they are amazing! The mixamp is a must. Like you said if you want to get the most out of the headset get the mixamp! Only complaint I have is the hard plastic headband all the black is fading and coming off the headband. Thats my only gripe about the headset .

i have had these since release, in 2024 i still use the same exact one , replaced the mic recently due to some crackle.... after almost a decade. my ear pads are well worn but still comfy and the headband is due a replacement . but amazon has everything we need. mic is 10-15$ cups are 15-40$ and headband is 10$. buy with confidence this headset is fantastic.

i got my A40 TR back in 2015. going on 10 years now. no issues, great audio, and extremely quiet with the noise canceling kit. Only downside is that the boom mic i have is frozen in time in the same position I molded it into almost a decade ago. Great headset.

I've had mine for almost a year now and if you get the pro amp it's definitely a nice buy. I had to return the A50s due to a charging issue. Tbh I'll stick to A40s because of how loud they get with the Amp pro.

I have A40 + mixamp pro but the only problem is with the Xbox series x and ps5 is because thay don’t have the optical out now so you have to connect the mixamp with usb which puts it into bypass mode and the Dolby button and eq don’t work, on Xbox you get Dolby atoms for headphones using the Dolby access app!

don't forget to mention the Ground noise when your mic is unmuted and that's soooo wrong with a 250$

That may be an issue on your end. I had ground noise with my Astro A10s and my Beats (for music listening.) It was a simple fix for me, just check out your computer & find out. try other headphones as well.

@@blakebustervcr i have my mix amp plugged directly to my ps4 and audio via optical cable and still , i can only hear the ground noise when im not muted and my side tone is set to high but i wasn't experiencing this issue with the A50 at all

The number of times my controller somehow falls off of the surface is just bad for the Astros A40. If I get the wired Astros A40, It's mostly that I'm going to step on the cable while standing up and break it. I honestly think the Astro A50 does a better job since it is wireless and have a battery for up to 15+ hours. And it also has a built-in sensor, so if no one not using the headset it automatically detects it and turns the headphones off.

you most likely plugged your headset into the mic port of your pc instead of the headphone port, to use both I think you need a audio splitter or you can do what i do with my headsets and just plug it into your controller.

@@sijmenberkers The Astro A40 TR Wired, indeed. I've owned 2 Astro A40 TR headsets. I'm gonna get another pair now and give my X Edition to my little brother after I swap the worn parts via mod kit. They are the most durable headsets in my experience. I've had the Gen 2 for around 8 years and the X Edition about 3-4 years. Both headsets are still working well. The A40 TR's/Mixamp Pro (Gen 4) are currently on sale. I suggest the Mixamp Pro, but the headset is serviceable without it.

Might need the Astro optical cable adapter which costs around $40 when it's not on sale. Double check. I play on a gaming monitor with the older mixamp and needed the adapter.
