*DISCLAIMER* For music and other entertainment make sure that your source program has no EQs on it as it will get all wonky when mixing with these presets. For example, on Spotify click your profile on the top right, go to your settings, scroll down to the equalizer, and make sure the preset is FLAT. That is how these were calibrated on my computer. You'll see that the G Hub and Spotify EQ will "stack" meaning that the bands will add to each others decibel levels e.g. If the ten hertz band on Spotify is at +1.5dB and the 10 hertz band on G Hub is at +2dB they will add together to +3.5dB total. Also, if the heavy bass presets don't sound right to you turn the first two or three bands down in decibels (the bass frequencies) until it is a level you like. Enjoy!
Appreciate the vid man, only RU-vidr who actually went in depth about EQ settings, really loved all the features the A50X has and was about to return mine due to them not sounding phenomenal right out of the box, tried your High Quality EQ setting and was mind blown 🤯 how good the A50X actually sound with these new graphene drivers, now I can finally enjoy mine, still my fav feature is Bluetooth connectivity to my phone while playing on PS5 or PC, and being able to stream audio and take calls while gaming all from the same headset
Thank you for being the only reviewer I’ve seen who actually explained the audio improvements between the new A50X compared to the Gen 4. I love my Astro A50’s (had them for a little over two years now) but I’ll definitely be upgrading once these are available! You’ve earned yourself a subscriber my brother.
Ordered mine on 12/14 and it is getting delivered tomorrow. Super stoked. Currently have the arctis nova pro wireless, black shark v2 pro wireless, and stealth pro wireless. I’m going to be able to unplug my yeti and save some desk space. Thanks for the review :)
Excited for you man! My pleasure. If you have any questions hit me up I’ll do my best to answer them! Happy holidays and thanks for stopping by the channel.
Let me know what you think! They’re good for entertainment and music. I’ll post a video later with only EQs of all types since a lot of info is lacking on these headphones so far. Merry Christmas to you too bro take care!
Thank you for for the solid honest review. I'm looking to possibly purchase these, but I'm concerned about the HDMI setup and EARC. I'd be connecting it to my PS5 and my PC, which are connected to my TV and SONOS Arc system via EARC. Do you have any issues regarding the HDMI configuration?
Of course dude my pleasure. Excited for you as there a really fun headset! Let me know if you have any questions once you get em and I’ll do my best to answer them. Happy holidays!
Which one does a lot of them and I’m using it for the PlayStation five you’re the only one that helps me. I’ve been asking this question since the day I bought the headset.
I use my “High Quality EQ” preset available on the G Hub app. Click the globe above all your presets and filter by most popular and you’ll find it. It works wonders for me and because all movement in r6s is on the lower end frequencies which is boosted on my preset.
I'm currently using my new pair of Astro A50X's for my PC since I got them on Monday. Are you experiencing a mild anf faint buzzing/white noise in the background of your headset while you're using them on PC? I noticed that this sound for me gets audibly a little louder if I increase the sidetone even if I'm not using the built-in microphone.
Oh no I have not at all experienced that 😬 I would make try hard resetting you headset by holding the play sync and game button for 30 seconds and if that doesn’t work contact support you might need a replacement. Their ticket system is bad too so I would call them hold times are pretty good actually when you call. If it’s worse when you increase sidetone it may be an issue with the mic.
I have two headsets and both have had this issue! Going to return one of them and work with support on the other one. Herald you’re sure you don’t hear anything with the basestation on and connected to your headset but no audio playing? Crazy.
@@zaskeu @jonkwan8637 I hear a faint white noise only when I turn both sidetone and headset volume to 100 but that's absolutely normal and expected to happen with any headset that has sidetone as that is the stream playing back into your headset. The highest ill have my headset volume at is around 70 when listening to bass pumping music and 20 for sidetone as I find anything past that and my own voice will start to overtake PC audio. I hear no white noise or buzzing with those setting and no audio playing. If you do just turn off the sidetone I'd recommend. Keep in mind that could also just be your computer fans you hear.
Thank you very much for your in-depth review. I have these heads of a PlayStation five I don’t play Warzone. I mostly play rainbow six siege is a FPS game on the global world is for call of duty.
Since the new software update, these settings are extremely loud. I used the High Qualitysetting for a long time, now with the recent update the High Quality EQ does not sound as good. Any new EQ’s coming from you since the update was released?
Hmm a firmware update for the headset or an update for the app itself? I never got either so I’ll have to reinstall ghub and figure it out later today!
For all Germans. 👌👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for the video, I have 2 questions: 1, When I have the gaming preset spotify sounds so weird, is there any way to seperate the eq for spotify? 2. Can you show us ur dolby settings? Like game preset with performance mode or sth? Thank uuu
@@DieserLayn So I going Spotify and make sure it has the flat equalizer preset selected because otherwise the two different equalizer presets “stack”. I pinned a comment I believe with instructions how to find and change it in Spotify. If it still sounds weird after that lmk. As for Dolby settings, I will check them today but I believe I also make that one flat so that the LG hub is the only equalizer working and no other programs interfere. Lmk if you have other questions.
@@HeraldDitaryVII thank you so much for ur reply. I'm currently using the gaming preset from astro but in my opinion the sound isn't the best .When I use spotify with that eq its sounds rly weird. On dolby I'm currently using the performance mode I think this is the one without an eq If I play games like cs, rainbow etc I have rly much problems with the sound orientation
@@DieserLayn try my EQ presets, you can download them from lg ghub just sort by most downloads and it’s up there under my name. I don’t even use Dolby just make everything else a flat eq and only use the g hub one
So I've noticed on my Series X they sound excellent, but have u notice a difference in sound on PS5? I feel like they sound a lot softer on PS5. Base doesn't hit as hard and I have to turn them up higher to get them closer to the xbox sound. I've also noticed on the Last of Us Remastered, the Auto Dynamic range is set to narrow which seems off to me. I have them set up per directions on Logitech's setup guide and I heard u say they were incorrect, but I dont see ur link in the description?
PS5 you have to set them up to only route Chat audio to them, as they get their game audio data from the hdmi passthrough. otherwise you wont get the game/chat mix properly setup, and it will sound different as you have the game audio coming through on both GAME and CHAT channel.
Hi nice review thanks for your time i just ordered mine i play on PS5 only i don't have multiple consoles or PC do you think i made a mistake do you think i will like them im currently using the Logitech pro x 2 wireless headphones and the audeze Maxwell ther heavy i haven't used those for months now thanks for the eq settings can i use those for PS5 on the phone app thank you have a nice safe holiday and happy New Year and happy gaming to all
Awesome man! I think only you can make that decision if you made a mistake based on how affordable $400 is to you. If you love them and can spare the money for a nice treat for yourself then no I don’t think so. I only use mine on one console(PC) too and am loving it. You can set the EQ settings through the mobile app too, they might keep the EQ you set on PC if you set it there and then switch the mode I’m not entirely sure yet. You have a nice safe holiday as well, happy new year you too and happy gaming!
I have not as I do not own a PlayStation or Xbox. But based off looking at other content creators it has absolutely no problems with that. I’m trying to focus more on the audio quality and EQs as Logitech has been very quiet marketing wise about the sound upgrade, and shipping it with bad default EQs.
Would you mind posting some images of the actual EQ palette itself, such as breakdown of each frequency and numbers, it is very hard to see in the video for me
Hey dude, the EQ palette and the breakdown of their frequencies is in the video, do you have a bigger screen? Also, the EQs are now published in the LG Hub app. Just click on the globe on the top of your EQ list and you can download all these, just sort by most popular and you should be able to see mine up there and the. You can click to my profile and see all the rest of them. I did the video like this because at the time they were not publishing any EQ settings.
They are shipping them out as they get them on a first come first serve basis! They say first quarter next year but I anticipate it will not take that long. I bet yours come early-mid January.
Not really feeling the sound on this headset. I tried your EQ it does sound somewhat better. But the EQ on the gaming preset is not that good. What am I doing wrong?
Hmm okay the gaming preset is focused more on footstep audio in those high frequency ranges. What exactly is going on can you elaborate? Have you tried enabling Dolby atmos and or windows sonic? Try the other and see how it sounds. I will be making another video focused only on EQs with some gaming EQs for footstep audio. Also try messing with in game audio settings and make sure they're on headphones and not speakers.
I would also suggest grabbing a mod kit. Either the one from the Astro website or one from Wicked cushions. They improve the sound by preventing it from leaking out the side versus the default fabric cushions.
@@HeraldDitaryVII I’m just confused about the sound . The Hyperx cloud 3s I just bought recently have better sound than this. The nova pro wireless better sound as well. I’m confused on why I get mixed up on counter strike
I do not think so but you are able to connect a bluetooth device(I connect my phone) and listen to that at the same time as your console which is cool! I'll watch IG reels and hear it at the same time as my PC audio or do a phone call as well.
just 2 questions i want to be specific whats the best hdmi for this headset and where does this hdmi plug into i am having this issue i am not using it for a while just because i am scared of ruining it
I believe so, but do not quote me on that. If not, I know you can do the same EQ settings on your phone and they definitely will be used on ps5 and Xbox.
You need to use the custom EQs. The default EQs are pretty bad. Check out the community presets I have a few there just filter by most popular or downloaded.
Someone to have a PlayStation five already answered the question that I needed to hear the game chat audio you cannot lower your teammate voice down with the PlayStation five
