I admit that I didn't want to super dwell on it, I think that the best way to go about it is as if nothing happened. We don't want to be a bummer right?
I don’t know if you noticed but the boys had just cried before they went into this song. It’s amazing how they could even sing. I know when I cry, my throat gets really tight and I get congested. How on earth did they pull that off? Especially MJ. MJ was the last one to cry and he was sobbing. It’s a testament to these boys hard work. Muscle memory kicks in. I agree with the other poster. This Starlight concert is their best one. There is a video on RU-vid that has all 2.5 hours of it. It doesn’t have their solo stages, but really worth checking out. Singing and dancing at the same time, and doing it so well and with heart is no joke. My admiration for these boys skyrocketed after watching this concert.
@@Killdeer25 Astro had been on a forced hiatus for almost 8 months due to financial and legal troubles with Fantagio, to the point that it would have been illegal for the music arm of the business to continue any musical activity. Credit cards were seized as well so the artists were on their own. The acting arm of the biz though could continue to operate so the burden fell on Eunwoo who was cast in 2 movies at that time, not just to rake in the money to keep them afloat but also to keep Astro somehow relevant to the fans. With no new content and communication from Astro for a long time, a lot of fans left. This concert was the first time the members were able to talk about the hardship they experienced. Here’s an English subbed video of that portion of the concert ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Okb0HF7y40.htmlsi=rTK0pmC_tKdN2k4R Btw, this is the context of the lyrics for Always You(the opening number in this concert), about the anguish from not being able to talk to the fans during their forced hiatus and the mixture of fear and hope if fans would continue to wait for them. All Night may be memorable to a lot of Arohas due to their first win, but Always You would always be an anthem to those steadfast fans that waited during this dark period. Here’s the link to the complete concert. It’s not English subbed so if you skip over the dialogues, you’d be able to cut down on the playing time. There’s one with English sub, but it’s not good quality. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lanS6pkqxPw.htmlsi=vPDrfNWu858PaA7i
They cried because they had just come back from a 14-month hiatus after their record company faced some legal troubles. They talked about their personal struggles during that time.@@Killdeer25
@@Killdeer25 they cried in the ending ments of this concert (2018), since they had this concert after a long break, their company was going through financial troubles and the group could not release music then. It was a shame to have to take a break since this was just within couple years of their debut and the group was just taking off. So just before this performance they cried their hearts out sharing their struggles with fans (Aroha) and being grateful for them returning back. They released their first full album after this concert in Jan 2019. BTW, I have been watching your ASTRO reactions in a marathon and appreciate you honest compliments and analysis of their music. They are a very special group and even individually as solo artists. Thank you.
@@Killdeer25 These guys had a somewhat difficult career, the Fantagio company was an acting company and they had no experience in music, although at first they did fairly well with the promotion, then they sold shares to a Chinese construction company (imagine that it is very different sector) and these people took over the company, there was no more publicity than the appearance of the same group on tours and that, almost nothing until it finished closing because they were not qualified people to direct something in the field of music, there were More than one year left without being able to make music in Korea (international fans are the ones who have saved Astro the most in that sense) after the businessmen were imprisoned in China for evasion I think (I'm not very sure but they were doubtful people) in fantagio They set a CEO to be able to continue with music but it was no longer the same, they didn't have a budget, etc., the boys suffered a lot from the loss of their original CEO and the people they worked with, luckily their closest staff has always taken good care of them, But let's say that it is a group that has had many difficult moments in which they did not know if they would continue or not and seeing the fandom again generated emotions, plus many fans disappeared that year. This is the little that I know, I may not have all the data, I don't know when that concert is either but it is more or less from that time and the songs that talk about loss and love sometimes come from their struggle. Always you is an example. Sorry I wrote a lot, I hope the translator does his job well hahaha
I love these 'concert ending' songs. Whether they're songs written for the fans or else just songs the fans latch onto early in the group's career as representing the bond between the group and the fans. Concert footage with the group singing and throwing it to the fans to sing as they wrap up the concert never fails to get me in the feels, whoever the group is.
