Jyotish is not an absurd thing. People who think it is lack common sense and they don't want to explore things which are beyond their control. People believe in gods and religious practices but don't believe in Astrology 😂, thousands of years back lord parashara wrote the Astrology book BPHS and his son ved vyas wrote Mahabharata with the help of lord Ganesha. Everything is linked to astrology. If you say that Mahabharata, ramayana everything is fake that's your biggest mistake. I am myself an IIT graduate and pursuing PhD currently in IISc. Being a science and technology student, i never knew about astrology as such but was eager to explore it. I have seen my father making very accurate predictions about my friends , he is also an IIT graduate and has been practising astrology for last 15 years. Every major event which happens in our lives is predestined. We think we can change our fate and it's all in our control 😂😂😂. We are just mere puppets in the hands of God. Whatever be our path be, the outcome is already destined.

आपका यह इंटरव्यू बहुत ज्यादा अच्छा लगा महोदय. और आदरणीय वर्मा साहब का सुझाव बहुत सही है कि किसी चीज को सीधे-सीधे नकारने की जगह उसका बड़े पैमाने पर वैज्ञानिक और गणितीय विश्लेषण करके उसका उत्तर ढूंढना चाहिए. विज्ञान और आस्था की तकरार इसी वज़ह से है कि अधिकतर पढ़ेलिखे बुद्धिजीवी वर्ग किसी बात को सीधे नकार देते हैं. 80% बातें धार्मिक किताबों और पंडितों की में भी मानता (विश्वास) हूँ. पर जो लिखा या बताया गया है उसको मानने या गलत ठहराने के पीछे तर्क की जगह मजबूत गणितीय वैज्ञानिक साक्ष्य हो तो बेहतर होगा.

जो बात बार बार लगातार गलत साबित हो रही हो उसको क्या गलत साबित करना, विज्ञान बकवास बातों को गलत साबित करने के लिए काम नही करता, अगर मे कहूँ के परियां होती है लेकिन खुद उनके होने को साबित करने के बजाए विज्ञान से कहूँ के विज्ञान स्टडी करके साबित करे की परियां नही होती, अजीब बात है ना? बस वैसे ही विज्ञान ज्योतिष जैसी बकवास चीजों के उपर क्यू अपना समय बर्बाद करेगा, ज्योतिष को सही साबित करना उनका काम है जो ज्योतिष को महान विधा बताते है,

Dr Narlikar did complete one statistical study regarding astrological prediction of intelligence. The conclusion was that horoscopes cannot predict intelligence. The paper was published in the journal Current science

Did Mr. Jayant Narlikar discussed with reknown astrologer of current times Mr. K.N. Rao. Mr. has the largest collection of horoscopes (more than 75000) with 5 to 10 main events of the native's life noted in his record. He can help Mr. Narlikar in his quest. Mr. Rao taught astrology in Delhi's Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan since 1980's. He is now 92 years old and currently residing in Bangalore.

Jyotish is an ancient astronomy of india, developed over time thousands of years ago. Planetry positions could be calculated eaisly by seeing the observed data of planets. But the further claim of life events dependent on planetary positions should be researched in details.

The planets of 'astrology' have nothing to do with actual planets of 'astronomy'. Only the names are similar, but their properties such as movement, relative position etc are completely different then the real planets. In fact, the planets of 'astrology' are mathematical coordinates of time and space. Instead of Mars, Jupiter..we can call them, x, y, a,b, c..or any other name. They follow different mathematical formulae and have different calculation system. They have nothing to do with our current rules of astrophysics, astronomy etc. Whether the 'life or future interpretations' we derive from our calculations of these coordinates ('planets') of astrology are 'true' or not is a matter, that we can infer by statistical analysis. (as suggested by Prof H C Verma)

@@Venom-uu1ge Whenever we prepare horoscope of a new born baby.The first information we seek, is the exact time of birth and place of birth (which gives location of the new energy source in space - time) These two Basic informations are then entered into astrology log book ( patra), which has predetermined calculations and on the basis of which values of some coordinates are calculated (Rashi, position of planets relative to each other) and a birth chart is prepared. This is Primary chart of every person is like a 'Profile' on a website and is unique for each one of us. From this Primary Birth Chart, which has all the coordinates (planets, rashis etc etc), calculations are made and information about the new born is obtained. This gives an idea about the basic personality of the person and major future events. In the second part, the movement of these coordinates is calculated according to astrological formulae and their position is be determined for the future. So some future events are then predicted on the basis of relative positions. ASTROPHYSICS on the other hand involves observing real planets through telescopes, and making calculations on the basis of laws of physics. The position, movement, etc of these planets remain same for everybody.

That's the conlusion. Like chess, it's complex came, with lots of calculation but do in reality things work like chess, big no.

Universe is a summation of random things. If universe is random how can astrology be organised? If astrology proves to be right it is only because of random guesswork nothing else. Prof Varma is a shrewd man he knows how to answer a question which is debatable- he would not outrightly reject the astrology but would give a balanced answer so that to maintain the equilibrium and be in the good books of believers.

Universe is random. But in this randomness there is chance when conditions are met and Life being exist on a planet. I think using Science to destroy that the jyotishi is nonsense and a guesswork Rather than outhrightly rejecting things. Because Sciencitic testing has been done on monks that Meditations, Yoga actually works for depression and stress rather than just eating medicine.
