tarot cards are cards because it's a game deck. you can play games with them just like a standard 52 card deck. entertainment. one of those games is divination and fortune telling. just like a magic 8 ball is a toy, but you can make all your decisions with it if you want. i think astrology is more like poetry or philosophy than science. the symbolism of astrology and tarot are so deep and vague that you can read into them however you want and find an answer to your questions. therefore they can be useful tools for self inquiry and introspection.
