@Deep Moticons oh really. Imagine your tether wasn’t connected properly, your SAFER system failed, and you are doomed as you float away. What will happen? Dehydration? Asphyxiation? You burn up? You kill yourself? You don’t know but all of those ways are terrible. No human being will stay calm in that situation. Even someone who does not fear death or pain will still freak out.

@Joe Chang what do you mean
@Sofia-ne1tl
@Sofia-ne1tl 4 года назад
@Joe Chang - the astronauts are floating, and in most on the interviews they're holding onto bars placed on the iss floor/wall with their feet, to stay on camera. every small touch could meke them move, bouncing between the bar and the floor (law of action-reaction). -that depends of what apollo mision you're whatching and the respective position of the sun and the earth. and as you could see here the ligth reflected by the moon at nigth, the earth reflects ligth on the moon too. also the surface of the moon and the space suits of the astronauts. that causes diferents shadows too. - images of galaxies billions light years away are taken by telescopes like hubble, that are configurated to take pictures of huge objects (thousands ly of diameter) that emit their own ligth at that distances. you can't use it to take pictures near, because will be out of focus. and objects like the buggy or the flag are very small (1-2m or less) and doesn't emit ligth. so, with the resolution of the camaras that we have today on earth you can't have a clear picture of those little objects at that distance (380000Km). but there're pictures like this: www.space.com/12796-photos-apollo-moon-landing-sites-lro.html - i've never seen a conversation with the iss without any delay, probably it's your apresiation. what video are you talking about?

@@TheAndipa The power of exponential change is hitting the spaceflight industry. By the middle of the next decade there will be much greater opportunities for more of us common folk to experience space. I bet by the mid 2030s we'll see space tourist trips that maybe still won't be super cheap but at least accessible many millions of people and not just a hyper elite few. I expect it to be something you could save up for if you're REALLY passionate about doing it. Like $10,000 or $20,000 for a week long orbital adventure. Maybe even less by then. Exponential growth is extraordinary.

He is so proud of the the things he has done and so proud of space he seems to love talking about it and the wonderful thing is that he never comes off as cocky or like he is bragging. Just a man with pride in himself and his accomplishments having a long and in depth but lighthearted conversation. But what struck me was that he seemed just as enthusiastic about talking about space stuff that didn't have to do with him specifically. Obviously most of his stuff referred back to himself...but for something like being an astronaut...it's not the most common thing so the only real thing you have to refer to is you and your own experience and I loved every single second.
