I use a similar due heater and battery. I also use one of these batteries to power my Star Adventurer. I also have the Red Cat. What a great combination, along with my Canon 60Da and new Canon EOS Ra.
I'm envious of your Canon EOS RA, I have the EOS R but have been wondering if the RA is worth the money given that it has limited changes to the EOS R (Although I appreciate the removal of the IR filter and the 30x digital zoom are good features!). I have a CDS Pro II cooled camera for my observatory (rebuilt Canon EOS 600D). What do you think? many of my friends use Nikons and they believe that the chips are better in low light and have greater sensitivity!
astronomicaltalk I just wanted the extra ha capability. It still has the ir cut off filter but it is 4 times more sensitive. The 30 times zoom is good also. But the regular EOS R is a very capable camera for Astro also. I have the Canon 60Da that came out in 2013 and it is also more sensitive to ha. You can get Canon, Sony, Nikon cameras also and they work well and can be modified to make them more sensitive to ha also. The Fujifilm cameras are already more sensitive to ha because of their X trans sensor. All of the new cameras coming out now have better sensors with great low light and less noise. This a great time for Astrophotography.
