A really interesting video. It's a shame that your image is slightly fuzzy, because I can't quite read the text you typed into Pixel Math. 🙂

I've tryed this and I keep getting: PixelMath: Processing preview: Alpha->Preview01 *** Error: No such image: Alpha-Q*(r-med(r)) I have Q=0.1 in my Symbols tab and Alpha-Q*(r-med(r)) in RGB/K tab

Hmm, weird. It suggests that you got a wrong file name of some form... Perhaps the red file is with a large R? Every name has to match for pixelmath

@@CrazedConceptions Thanks for the reply! Ya I went thru everything multiple times and even started from scratch with the formula. I couldn’t get it to work and I didn’t have a response here so I watched Amy Astro and while her formula is much more complex it did work and I was really pleased at how it all turned out.

For some reason when I go to add the HA data in the RGB image it’s not aligning properly… Everything is aligned as confirmed down to a scale of 20:1… I must be doing something wrong in alignment…

That's weird. Did you perform a star alignment before trying to combine them?

@@CrazedConceptions Yeah... I mucked up the the dynamic alignment due to not paying attention which stars were being selected between the frames... DoH!

Love this!! I’m relatively new to post processing and although I wish you would elaborate on each step of your tutorial, I will keep rewatching it until it sinks in. Can your technique be used with a OSC camera? I’m looking forward to exploring more of your channel. Can’t wait to try this out come galaxy season this spring.

Yeah PixInsight updated the look of PixelMath last year, but the functions are still the same. Only now you have the separate channels in tabs instead of below each other.

@@CrazedConceptions I figured it out..😂, this was my first day using pixInsight and the learning curve is a little tough, I've have a Mac and loaded DSS in a virtual machine then did all my processing in PS. This is much different and I am hoping to get some better results out of my images. Right now I have 12 hours of Orion with Sii, Oii and Ha, along with LRGB but am having a difficult time trying to find a good tutorial. I will figure it out, eventually, and as long as it keeps raining, I have plenty of time

The H alpha signal is not drowned out. Compared to the white light the h alpha signal is in fact trivial. What you are illustrating is a scientific fake

I'm not quite sure what you mean, honestly. Subtracting the continuum light from the H-Alpha channel is quite literally the most scientific way an average amateur astrophotographer can implement hydrogen data into broadband images...
