One of the most unique Outer wilds playthroughs, includes basically all uncommon/ very rare things that could happen during a run, including one very special find at 1:45:10 ::)
This video covers videos 1-35 from Oliver's unedited playthrough: • Astrophysicist plays |...
The remaining parts and the ending are in the DLC supercut: • Astrophysicist witness...
Thumbnail art made by me, inspired by Oliver's thumbnails.

I’m no astrophysicist but so was I. The concepts in this game are extremely dumbed down versions of real science concepts and physics. I figured out the quantum moon as soon as I noticed it disappeared, I used the probe launcher to rapidly speed or slow down using Newton’s third law. It’s not the hardest thing ever. Hell I noticed the sun turning red a lot sooner than he did. You think of certain science concepts and it starts to make sense. The only thing I’m struggling with is figuring out how to get to the sunless city because I suck at tracking time and I get lost on that planet easily. But other than that the game is pretty simple to understand and I usually find most secret stuff eventually usually by coincidence

Oliver is one of the smartest players I've seen, his Obra Dinn, Subnautica and now Hollow Knight playthroughs all reflect that, with him predicting and understanding things hours before they happen At times, he would come to a seemingly far-fetched conclusion (altho one I know is true because I played these games) and then he explains how he got to these conclusions and I end up learning something new I didn't even consider. Currently watching him watch Hollow Knight, and he already figured out several major parts of the story and lore, a game where I'm not gonna lie - even after finishing I needed some Mossbag lore videos to fully understand. He just doesn't know he's correct yet.

Oh, wow. I've loved all your supercuts so far, but after 14 minutes of this one, I just HAVE to go watch the original uploads. This guy is picking up so many things that others don't, and small things I've never seen anyone else pick up, like the comet's two tails in the diagram, or that the devs put in actual constellations. To other things like that other stars are going supernova in the background (On his first loop, no less), or how he figured out the terminology of the quantum shards seconds after seeing the first one, that no matter how well it's cut, I feel like this supercut might miss some great small observations he makes. Thanks a lot for all of these, though. They're excellent!
@Nytraz

I watched the entire play through as he was uploading it to RU-vid and I really can’t recommend it enough. He does a lot of self monologuing about his thoughts that really can’t be contained in a super cut. While this is great for people who may not have the time to watch a full play through, I think this is one that really deserves that time spent.

been looking for this comment, and with the games apparent attention to detail its not far fetched at all. Especially since the solar system (for gameplay or aesthetic reasons or whatever) is like miniturized/condensed. Its an idea ive played with even before hearing this, infinities in multiple dimensions? Like we obviously have infinity in space (statistically space is infinitely recurring if its infinite as we think), time (give everything enough time and everything will happen again and more), quantum mechanics (basically parallel universes, everytime a quark changes spin we branch off basically) but what about scale like, 99% of an atom is just empty space innit so what if our infinite universe is also just part of like an atom of an infinitely larger universe and even that repeats ad absurdum. (think like a mandelbrot set? it wouldnt invalidate that space repeats and even allow for spatial parallel universes but also reveal a larger pattern upon zooming out or in) Not to mention possible infinities with simulating realities, infinities of perception and memory (think of something like a Boltzmann Brain, for a split second a concious mind materializes with memories of entire lifetimes, universes and physical rules, they dont even have to make sense since it materializes out of pure randomness) Its crazy and has fucked with my mind ever since, if quantum behaviour as we observe in game is at a tangible, macro scale then it isnt far fetched of them to assume the "eye of the universe" to just be a valence electron?!

The way he discovered both the rules of quantum imaging and entanglement simultaneously by using his scout way before he was supposed to learn any of that is such a cool testament to how internally consistent the game is to the point where you can make discoveries entirely on your own. It's so great. Sequence breaking literally just requires enough curiousity and out-of-the-box thinking.
