Same I didn't know much about hot airs other than they had the same fuel injection just no intercooler. This car is sick and I think it's badass! I've ran my 87 engine without an intercooler for years at a time and it makes just as much power as when I have a stock intercooler installed. Intercoolers are over rated I think. No cooler on my k swap MR2 either and I've got cranked way up over 600hp on e85
No need to upgrade the scanmaster G. The powerlogger is compatible with it and you can skip the part where I open the scanmaster to put the updated chip in. The G has the latest version already
@@CRASHBERN I basically chopped most of the stock harness off and wired everything directly to two DB37 connectors which plug into the Megasquirt 3 + MS3X. That is the long story short. I also wired everything through two 22pin weatherpack connectors which pass the wiring through the Chevelle firewall into the cabin of the car.
How do you like the exhaust so far? I've been pondering a single for a while but worry about drone. My car spools faster with the dump open than through the duals/mufflers, so I'd kinda like to find a middle ground between them.
Sounds perfect at startup & idle, a bit louder than I’d like when driving through the neighborhood though. At 40mph+ sounds good again. I’ll keep you updated as I put more miles on it
I've always heard the drone can be cancelled by keeping the stock position style muffler cause it has crossover properties... I have no room in front of the fuel tank on the Chevelle to try it though... The drone is real on my car and it's exactly when passing above 1600rpm. The 2800-3200 torque converter actually solved it for me cause the engine revs right past 1600 every time I start now, so that was an added bonus of the converter 👍🤘
Well said! It sounds annoying at 1600 rpm because that’s where I’m going 25-30mph through my neighborhood. Didn’t even think about the muffler placement idea
