Holy f ! To learn and play this on my shitty guitar would take a months, there's so many moves to do like wtf ?! Damn i would love to play like that, but my guitar is saying "no, not on me" :(
@@seba.gt__ just out of interest what would you consider, if you had to pick one or a few pieces, the final boss of classical guitar? I'm trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to classical guitar
@@isaacwhite781 pff, man, there's a lot of pieces... For example, right now I'm learning a piece called "Seis por derecho" and I consider this one harder than "Asturias" But then you can find some pieces that are fucking insane and, holy shit, it's amazing to see people playing them
@@seba.gt__ Also I watched some of your videos and the song you are practicing. You are good for your age but maybe try to play songs like Asturias in a proper way first before going to these really hard pieces. Especially your left hand needs some work. Anyway, keep it going!
This along with pretty much any Tarrega piece, are all my favorites. This was the first piece I tried to learn when I got interested in classical 6-7 years ago... I'm still learning it.
Can I tell you something they don't tell you in music school? Just learn it. You will learn so much trying to learn a piece that is too hard. My first piece on piano was maple leaf rag, and then I did Rachmaninoff c sharp minor prelude. I learned so much from playing them. Although don't skip the basics completely because you need a repertoire.
@@granddaddy_funk Yeah I realized the same thing when I noticed how all the songs that were hard in guitar hero were way easier when I went back to them after trying much harder ones I thought I couldn't do. So when I picked up the real guitar, I started with Sky Guitar's Fly Me to the Moon and Gnosienne, learning about one section each day. Once I memorized it, I've just played each song over and over, getting a little better. If you're going to learn something, learn something you like. Then I went back and learned Moon River (their arrangement is amazing). Then as soon as I heard Asterias I knew this was my next one haha. Even though it'll take me a few months just to remember all the parts, I know my fingers will also learn skills that will transfer really well to other stuff
Get good bro! But I mean it, just like granddaddyfunk said, try: start slowly, eventually you get there. But don't forget that you will need some weeks, even months to master pieces like these, practicing everyday. The good thing is "complex" songs are incredibly fun to learn, it doesn't even feel like practice. Just don't give up!
I have said it many times and I will say it again. I owe you. you are my teacher. I am Iranian, and studied music, but, I don't have the possibility to improve in guitar. Classes are really expensive. I thank you. You make me proud. Humanity is beyond language and country. Respect 🙏
@@sampoakar I mean it’s up to you. But chances are your gonna get frustrated and likely to give up the piece (and maybe guitar) all together. Better to start dleo
Just want to acknowledge your extreme generosity in providing all the freely given instruction for all the pieces you post. It is invaluable. For all your effort and hard work I say thank you very much.
I’m playing it consistently at 85 bpm- slowly but surely bringing up the speed. This video has been an absolute blessing dude (used non-gendered). I’ve made comments before about my love for this channel but nothing I ever comment will ever be sufficient. This is the absolute best recourse for guitarists wanting to learn finger style. and it’s all done for free, no face attached, just the appreciation of music put out for everyone to enjoy. Every time someone asks me for a way to learn, I point them to this channel- this type of content is invaluable, if we had more stuff like this for other hobbies in this quality the world would be a much better place. Thank you for the content you put forward. You’re an inspiration to continue growing and learning more music.
@Sky Guitar yes!!! I have been waiting and hoping for this day to come!!! I learnt all the other 5 star pieces you so brilliantly taught on your channel. Now I am finally here - Asturias was the last classical piece on my classical bucket list and you've come through for me again. Thank you for empowering my guitar journey these past 6 months, you have all my gratitude 🙏
I started learning guitar since last christmas 2020, and from begining im with you on RU-vid. Thanks to you, I learned a lot of arrangments and playing it perfectly, like Godfather, Bella ciao, Shrek and Spanish romance. This piece is my dream and i will... I dont know when, in 2 years, 5 years maybe 10 years learn this guitar most beautiful creation for me. All i want to say is just thank You. ❤️ I remember when i asked you to make Asturias in one of your video. ❤️
This is brilliant. The tab corrected some of my bad fingerings from the past and showed how the less known part is as equally tasteful. Well done and thank you.
I consider myself an intermediate guitarist but...my fingers just took to those song and I was able to learn it quite quickly... Thanks for the awesome lesson
In some book for self-improvement I heard that for any skill or job you do you must have complete goal. Something which will be the highest point of your mastery that you will be trying to achieve while doing some minor and easier things from that skill. I started playing guitar not so long ago and didn't have any goal, but after this video I have one. Thank you Sky Guitar!
I am 14 years old and have been playing classical guitar for 5 years, participating in multiple concerts along the years. I am going to be playing asturias in a upcoming concert in two weeks. Feeling confident tho.
i saw this video on youtube then i tried this out and i learned the half and few weeks after i joined classical guitar class . anyone who want to learn a guitar must try classical because the origin of a guitar starts from here then u can play any hard songs flawlessly 💯
Thank you so much for all the free music lessons you've shared. The way you slow them down and play it while presenting the tab is perfect for learning.
I can finally be able learn this piece. I found some tabs and sheet music of this but they were all changed ones they were not the original one but finally i found it now i need to wait 2 more hours to see it and practice
So I was browsing the channel, led here by Howl's Moving Castle, and happened upon this. I can't express the odd kind of joy it brings me to see you label a song I played in concerts years ago as a 5/5 difficulty piece. Back then, I didn't think much of my guitar studies, and honestly, I still don't, but it's still oddly rewarding to see people in the comments eager to learn the piece and commending its difficulty.
Whoever you are you play beautifully. Immediate sub for your playing aswel as your tutoring. What an amazing gift to the world. What an incredible tutorial technique. The purists are going to be upset!!!!
This song blew my mind long ago. Attempted it a few times half assed. Decided to put more effort in it & boom I'm starting to fly through it. Shouldn't have been so intimidated by it I guess. A mind blowing piece! Thanks for the vid , beautiful playing.
Saying this is easy is disrespectful to the people who have dedicated time to learn this. Twinkle twinkle little star is easy. This takes dedication and effort. Something you can’t teach. Beautifully played might I add
Trying to keep up with you is like trying to race a Lamborghini with a by cycle, accept when you took off you caught my suspenders in the door so I’m right behind you.😂
This guy is the Prometheus of classical guitar. I wish every guitar style had channels like Sky Guitar. Comprehensive straight forward. What a contribution to the world❤🤟🏼
Thank you very much for dedicate your time, effort and talent to give us this amazing interpretation of this masterpiece. I'm sure this will inspire a lot of people. Thanks for the generosity of sharing this.
I started playing guitar 2 years ago and have been trying to play this since i started. This is what got me to start playing and wow is it much more difficult than anticipated.
Just started my Guitar journey today and this is the song that got me interested in playing in the first place. Hopefully I'll be able to play this some day
@@TOMTOM-zj5xj I can agree. I don't have a classical guitar, only acoustic. It hurts practicing with narrow guitar neck, steel string, and high string action and tension. I'm gonna save up some money to buy a classical guitar
I'm grateful to the algorithm gods for sending me this channel. I've gone to levels in my playing I hadn't expected. I'm most fond of the Town With an Ocean View.
Thank you so much Master! I'd been learning with you many songs around the past months, congrats for do this! A lot of work and passsion behind this videos.
❤❤❤ I once attempted to learn this gorgeous Spanish piece. Now your incredible tutorials have inspired me to try again! Thank you so much and Happy New Year!
I didn’t realize the reverb was added til later smh lol. The Measure 25+ transition with reverb is incredible. I wondered if filling in the open Bs after the chord would give it an echo effect naturally in a hall if tech wasn’t available FYI, this literally inspired me to pick back up after 10 years. Thanks for sharing your repertoire and fruit of your labor without a paywall. If you know, you know-- this is incredibly valuable
Nahhh. just watch the indian dude teaching it but not in an exact way... like he teaches you to play it on your own style. The song of the golden dragon made me learn guitar, after one year I learnt it from the indian dude and now I play it pretty well and kind of my own way, not exactly like the original. But that's just my opinion 🌚
I know I repeat myself, but THANK YOU Sky Guitar, you make me always happy. Shame those hands are not for sale. It's all down back to practise then. Happy lives to you and to all involved in your work. 👍
Amazing free content! This is definitely "the" tutorial for playing Asturias. I would love to see some flamenco tutorials by you, my friend (like Entre dos aguas or more traditional ones).
I'm a Vietnam Veteran with peripheral neuropathy, I'm working on Rondo a la Turka currently, I have most of the simple version memorized and when I finish this level completely I will start the next level with arpeggio. I find the arpeggio and chromatic scale tutorial very helpful, thank you. Your playing is beautiful and inspiring. Thank you again.
I started to play it after a long guitare break and after 6 month I can appreciate play it (not all parts for the moment). This piece is a gold mine of technics and I always improve each session. Asturias is insane
OMG 😱 What a lovely gift for 2022! Thank you so much Sky! 🙏🏻Can’t wait to start learning it. 😜 I always played just the first minute or so then got discouraged because it was way too hard. But you always make them easier to learn and I’ve mastered several pieces from your precious channel. Happy New Year 🎊🎈 🎉❤️🙋♀️🥰🥳
