Thank you. To all you how have been playing Asturias, I glad to tell you that I today will publish a version 2.0. This version includes sticking and an alternative way of playing parts that are not so easy if you are not using the Stevens Grip. You will find it here www.shop.kaistensgaard.com
WOW, absolutely amazing! I have never seen anything like this before. Great interpretation of the piece. 5 out of 5 stars, very engaging, entertaining and astounding! It's great to see yet another interpretation on a unique musical instrument. The piano score (which it was originally composed for) and the guitar translation are great gems. This is one I'll add to my favorites. I wish you the best, and thanks for the upload!
Bought this arr. from Kai himself in Copenhagen during Percussion Pulse 2020 festival. This is what you call a reference video! He's very friendly and a great marimbist!
AMAZING. One of my top 10 favourite performances now. Very talented and an excellent performance. I was just trying out instruments on my electronic keyboard and selected xylophone. I suddenly remember Asturias and thought that would be the ideal piece to play for this instrument as it is mostly staccato, then I wondered if anyone has played it and it brought me here. Is there anything that hasn't been done or I cannot find on Internet.
Amazing! I learned the highlights of this song on marimba during my undergrad. The triplets at the beginning took months to learn the technique! Well done.
Kai Stensgaard i'm not sure how to get a piece on the list. I'm pretty sure that solo and ensemble music lists vary among the states. Only way I can figure out how to find out is by calling the Florida Band Masters Association and asking them since I live in Florida. flmusiced.org/fba/dnn/Home.aspx
Besides that its great piece of music, beautiful playing and greaat arangement one can imagine how hard is it to record such composition using a playback. There is also funny moment on 3:58 if you hear it in headphones you can recognise JA or YEAH )
@kmoin1996 You know that there are variations of marimba solos right? I'm playing this solo for my high school winter concert, and it's in a different key. It's okay. Grow up. This man is a thousand times the marimba player that you will ever be.
Today I found out that my old transcription of Asturias has been shown almost 27.500 times. Thanks!!!! But my video about my six mallet grip has been seen by 35.000 :-)) Asturias Leyenda via @youtube
