That was nearly me while holding our 6 month old. So thankful i I had family and friends to help us get out alive. Condolences to her family and friends. Ladies, it only gets worse. Get out early when you're abused. Make a plan, prepare covertly and ask for help.
We have to normalize speaking about this issue. Not everyone feels that leaving/divorcing is easy to do, and many feel unsupported. Also, plenty women who do leave, are still victims of this fatal type of DV. Men, and boys need to be targeted with anger management skills, and deeper understanding of the many ways that patriarchal society, isn’t going to help them have the life they want.

This is so sad. I feel so bad for their children. Not only have they been living in an abusive home, now they will have no parents around. Their mothers was murdered and their father will be in prison for life- where he belongs but it’s still son sad.
Moms & Dads, one of the most important thing you can teach your daughters is how to financially support themselves. Start them early on the path to education & a career--maybe it's college, maybe it's an apprenticeship trade, maybe its entrepreneurship & their own business. Whatever their strengths & interests, help them learn to invest in them so they can get a decent job & be financially independent as adults. The main reason women stay in abusive relationships is that they're unable to financially support themselves & their children on their own. Teach your daughters that love, relationships & marriage don't require surrendering your independence & autonomy. And if they do--if he insists she quit work, or he insists he has to drive her everywhere, or he needs to see who called her--THAT IS A HUGE RED FLAG. This poor woman endured years of abuse, & then died a horrible death at the hands of her tormentor.

Well, he didn’t have any history because nobody charged him the place didn’t go there. The mom never called it in and neither did the kids. Obviously I grew up in that environment and exactly what that’s all about and then the worst tragic thing could happen happened. What a coward so ignorant and you shatter in the back that’s disgusting.
Unfortunately the kids have been suffering already for a long time by witnessing the DVs growing up, and now lost both parents. I am not sure they will ever be able to get over the traumas. Sending lots of love to them.
Actually, I've seen enough Dateline episodes to realize that sometimes BOTH the spouses like the constant fighting. It's what they do, and strangely enough, they each must get something out of it.
Because they scare the crap out of you. You have to leave secretly and they have a 14 year old. You can't just up and leave and take the kids without a judge taking them from you and giving them to the abuser.
Because you fear they will hunt you down and kill you. Will the courts believe you or will you have to share custody and see the violent animal every week? That could be much worse, since they will have a new grudge against you.

Its alspl the least investigated by police even when previous charges were made..I was in the home when my daughter was shot during her attempt to move out. Little investigation has led to zero justice. Ive never seen my grandkids since.
