I’m fighting game noob and all the tier posts say asuka is low of mid-low, I really like her play styles. I managed to get to orange ranks then stuck and keep practicing. This is really helpful. Maybe it’s too much for me to say but feel asuka players are all friends. Thanks for this posts. So helpful! I work harder so I can see red tanks!
I'd say not to worry about tiers too much in this game, the game is balanced enough that you can use any character without too much disadvantage. It isn't like smash Bros for example where using a low tier character will hold you back significantly
Thanks for this - got 2 characters to blue ranks and was having trouble figuring how asuka she’s definitely different style than I’m used too - in a good way
good stuff Fergus, I have been looking for resources to start playing Asuka. this is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. - SplashKetchumTk
hey ferg thanks so much for the guide, been watching since i first started playing tekken 8 and have been cruising my way up the ranked ladder thanks to you. much love
This video convinced me to pick up Asuka. She doesn't play anything like my mains, Nina and Zafina, but she has a lot of tools that I look for in a character.
Bro i really appreciate your videos but u seriously need a lil better mic, ears start to hurt after a while and its hard to understand sometimes. Thnk u for reading
She can bulldoze people so hard now, especially after the recent buffs. I've been running more and more into good Asuka players in purple ranks, so this will help with also countering the matchup.
Trying to switch back from Claudio to Asuka. Her db2 actually high crushes in 3 frames I can go under a jab after a b4 at -7, tested in training vs multiple characters.
A lot of times the punch sabaki f+2+3 will cause her and the opponent to be misalligned which makes my go-to follow up combo ff2,3 -> db1,4 impossible. What's the best way to still get the most out of it? Maybe all you need is a quick SSR to realign and I'm just too slow? Appreciate any help
Your tutorials are excellent, and your written guide is super helpful. Thanks so much. One question, if F2 is guaranteed after D1+2, why doesn't it show it as a combo in practice mode?
No b1+3 as a punisher? I prefer it than 2,3 Also no love for df 3+4? That's my best High Crasher. Great video. Although I would love to explore Parry Traps, just like you showed with ss2
It's guaranteed in some combos as an ender. When they bounce off the ground instead after U1+2, you have df 3 in most instances. If you think they will stand straight up in place, simply use 3. If you think they will side roll right, use db 3. That's what I do, anyway and I think Fergus does that mostly as well. Someone else chip in, if they know more than I do about this...
I think if you hit it as an unscaled hit from a wallcombo or heat dash for example then it wont be guaranteed just a 50/50 between them getting up or delayed techroll/staying down
