Heres a tip for understanding the storyline: When asura dies he ends up in naraka, that pillar looking place. Naraka is kinda like a limbo purgatory. when he climbs back up he's back in the "real world" only time has gone on without him whilst asura was "dead"

"When I first saw the Seven Deities, I was like: maybe it's a 7 deadly sins kinda thing." You're kinda correct! In the lore of Asura's Wrath, there are 8 kinds of Mantra: Wrath, Greed, Violence, Sloth, Vanity, Melancholy, Lust and Pride. Each of the Eight Guardian Generals (one was Asura, and the other later became the Seven Deities) primarily use one kind of Mantra, and use that emotion to power themselves up. In case you were curious: Asura is obviously Wrath, Wyzen was Violence, Augus is Greed, and Yasha is Melancholy.

funny you should mention the seven sins, each of the deities have a "mantra afinity" and some of them are based on sins, for example asura has wrath, Deus is pride, olga is lust, sergei is envy, augus is greed and kalrow is sloth. none of them represent gluttony, yasha is "melancholy" and wyzen is "violence". Also after you died the first time 12000 years have passed, after the second time another 500 have passed

I dont know if its explained in the future but I think asura has the power to amplify mantra like his daughter, but instead of amplify others mantra he amplify his own mantra, and the thing that triggers that is pure rage, the more rage he has, more powerful he becomes, the sections of gameplay in the game is him building rage and then burst, becoming more powerful everytime he does it. Maybe he never tought that he could become so powerful (after all 13k years have passed and even if he defeated the weakest of the 7 they had 13k years to become more powerful and he just destoryed him) because if they knew he would be so powerful they wont have betrayed him. Also now is more powerful because he didnt had a reason to hate before, but now his wife is dead and his daughter taken away, so now his hate is unlimited, and so his power. We will see how the game continues :)

This is the game where you litteraly tell creation to fuck off for the life of your family. Still to this day, one of the most fun over the top action game/movies.

Asura's mantra is anger, meaning the angrier, the more powerful. Yasha's mantra is melancholy, meaning the sadder, the more conflicted he is, the stronger he gets. As Asura's anger and Yasha's inner conflict grows, both are going to rise to new heights For info, Deus's mantra is pride. As long as he believe in himself and his own righteousness, he's basically invincible. While Augus's mantra is greed(specifically the idea of accumulating the joys of life and of battle). The harder the fight, the more fun he has, the crazier he gets.
