I was hoping to see how to replace the keyboard but you stopped just short. I spent years in electronic repair but in my old age I don't know if I have the motivation for all that anyway; I sent you a contact form to ask about the repair of my grandson's c423na-db42f.
Hello! The keyboard on this model is plastic welded into the palmrest, and unfortunately not designed to be removed. If you'd like, send us an email at repairs@chromebookparts.com to get straight in touch with our repair department!
While it is possible to replace just the keyboard, it is a time-consuming process, with over 40 plastic rivets holding the keyboard in place that would need to be removed and replaced. There also doesn't seem to be any financial benefit in doing this over swapping out the entire palmrest, so we'd recommend against it. If you'd like to see how the palmrest w/keyboard can be replaced for this model, here's a video tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pMzGKm9jR2A.htmlsi=0u4hhTFVBYpVQ7cE
Hello! We recommend disconnecting the WiFi antennas from the WiFi card on the motherboard and then wrapping the antennas in electrical tape to make sure antenna connectors won't short circuit anything on the motherboard. Then, we would still recommend turning off the WiFi and Bluetooth in the settings, as is it could still technically pick up a signal.
Hey, mine has a flashing white light next to the charger port. We went from home to a fast food joint with it half charged, just to open it up and it won't turn on, nor does it seem like it's charging.
It sounds like the battery has failed or is somehow not plugged in. That would be the first place to look. If you don't feel comfortable opening your device to check, feel free to message repairs@chromebookparts.com to send it into our repairs department. All repairs come with a free diagnosis and free ground shipping.
We can't know for sure without seeing the device for ourselves, but our first guess would be that the LCD cable is damaged. If not, the next most likely cause would be the LCD panel itself. If you would like further assistance, please contact our repairs department at repairs@chromebookparts.com
Unfortunately, this device does not have a removable m.2 drive. The memory is soldered onto the motherboard. But that is strange... As far as I can tell, the model only comes in 4gb and 8gb versions
Unfortunately the RAM can not be upgraded. Like most modern Chromebooks, made after 2012, the RAM is soldered on to the main board. if you want to upgrade the RAM, you’ll need a Chromebook made before 2012 and only a particular model like the Acer 710 Series. Hope this helps! :)
I believe the C423N can be charged via both the USB-C Port on the Motherboard (Left Hand Side) and Daughterboard (Right Hand Side). The Daughterboard and Motherboard can be replaced, but the charging port can only be removed via Micro Soldering. I hope this helps! :)
@@Chromebookpartsmy both charging port are damaged what should I do now?? And no one accepting to fix it as I am from India and chromebook is a new tech here and chromebook market is so small that parts are unavailable. I also have problem with my screen I have to replace it
Hello! If you'd like to fix it yourself, we can certainly help with getting you the parts you need. It sounds like that would require both a motherboard and daughterboard, along with the LCD screen you mentioned. Visit our website or contact customersupport@chromebookparts.com for assistance. If you're not keen on making the repairs yourself, we do offer a free diagnosis for repairs. Unfortunately, our free shipping only covers ground shipping, so that wouldn't apply in this case. If you'd still like to explore this route, contact repairs@chromebookparts.com
Hello! We would recommend unplugging the battery and letting the device dry out for three days. After those three days, try powering on the device (still without the battery plugged in). If there are signs of life, we would then recommend replacing the old battery to be safe, as water may have seeped inside, which could pose a hazard. If there are no signs of life, you most likely will need a new motherboard (at minimum). In this event, feel free to message us at repairs@chromebookparts.com about repairs or if you have any questions. We don't charge shipping or diagnosis fees, if you do decide to send it to us.
My HP core I5 suddenly went blank, I have tried so many things and it won't come up, I took it to a repair shop nd was told its the mother board. What do u suggest
If you would like a second opinion we are happy to give one and offer repair if necessary. Unfortunately, without having the device in hand we are able to offer anymore help on this matter. To contact our repair department please email repairs@chromebookparts.com
