Yes pentile 1080p is between 740p and 1080p and noticeable. For £1200 in the UK it is a push. No dynamic refresh means that the extra battery cannot be utilised to its potential and is disappointing. The primary camera is okay but ultra-wide is sub-par and no zoom at this price is unacceptable. This is a very niche phone and clearly not for 99% of consumers.
@@misty7774 Nope, atleast better than traditional flagship device. At least gaming phones are doing something different, improving or introducing new features unlike traditional flagship devices. And the greatest shitty example is Samsung.
My major complaint with the rog phones in general is that it is damn near impossible to find good accessories for them. I own a ROG 6 and I've had to go through at least 3 cases that were cheap chinese junk before I found a good one(The ROG 6 and 7 come with their own phone cases, but I wouldn't stake my $1k+ phone's safety on it, ROG or otherwise). And you can forget about screen protectors. Majority of them either are too small, falsely advertised on Amazon as being able to fit the rog 6, or they DO fit the phone but are bad quality. EDIT: And on another note, basically every phone case(with the exception of the included phone case)for the rog 6-7 will block use of the cooler. Some cases will obstruct the air triggers as well. So again, great phones, but beware of lack of accessory options.
It would worth the money if the mobile gaming market would be good enough. But we are not there. The most played games of 2023 are basically flash games from 2005.
Great review guys. You guys are awesome. This is probably the best well rounded gaming phone. Not a ton has changed, but it's still the best. One thing though: for racing games, you may wanna use the triggers for braking, acceleration and/or nitrous rather than steering the car. Anyways, keep it up!!!
auto mode- will adapt depending what youre using, since he went to home screen, it reverted to 60hz cuz u dont need to have higher frame rate on homescreen. Once u play a game, the frame rate will go up to 165hz the higher the frame rate, the higher the power consumption, so thats why theres an auto
What a beast of a gaming phone, but seeing as Asus will be moving to the PC handheld arena, I'm much more looking forward to that for a true AAA gaming experience like for Diablo 4 than just mobile games 🤓
I wish a manufacturer would throw this level of originality at making a phone dedicated to music. The options we have for high fidelity music right now are...well terrible.
Considering it's as expensive as the latest IPhone this isn't that expansive compared to the mainstream flagship phones. This also come with accessories that IPhone does like a charger. I'll probably grab this one, mine is old and getting slow, it also might eliminate my biggest problem with the new phones which is overheating, even if I need an external cooler, which comes with the phone
I'm not even a gamer, and I'm impressed by this phone! It is really cool looking, a huge battery, cutting edge chip, nice cameras, and no notch or hole punch. If I had the extra money, I'd highly consider getting this phone. The only thing I don't like is it's name. Rog phone? I would just call it my Frog phone. Lol
2 yrs of security update, right? Not actually worth it tbh if you want to maximize your hard earned money. It's true that you can use any mobile device without updating its system. It's my dream phone, yes, but I also consider the software support lifespan. 😞
I personally feel the upgrade is not worth the price...They Have also made a major cost cutting by removing ESS SABRE QUAD DAC after ROG 5...so the audio quality through earphones and the power to drive high impedance headphones is going to be not as great as rog 5... atleast they should have given a display with QHD+ resolution
I am not a phone gamer but I can tell you that I was looking for a replacement of my OnePlus 7T Pro Maclaren. For a person who hates notches, etc and love listening to music, this is the best option.

All reviews on this phones are crap including this. A gaming phone need to be reviewed like a gaming phone first, rather than just like any other regular all round phone. Including all it's accessories, usage in games, stability of frame rate, controller support, etc.... I don't know what's happening with the reviewers now days.
ASUS fix our android 13 update with a lot of bugs, our wifi and hotspot are not working and my camera won't flip, fix it before you release this device!!!
Verify that VoLTE is working if you are considering to use this phone as a daily driver. ASUS has a history with some of their phones not having VolTE/VoWifi enabled and working.
Without making any phone call, look in the status bar of your phone to insure you are connected over LTE. ( You will see LTE or 4G LTE preceding your signal strength icon). If you see this, then make a phone call and after you are connected look and see if the LTE remains. If the network display changes from 4G or LTE to something like 2G, E, 3G or if the phone call doesn’t get connected then VoLTE is not supported. If the call goes though with no status change then it is through VoLTE.
This phone is even more beast, but to be honest the back design of ROG 6 pro is better than this for me, the sharp and snappy back design of RoG 6 pro can't be seen anymore in RoG 7 ultimate :(
too much feature and customization can make these bug happen same like on the pc’s and other electric home appliance . This is why iphone is more stable and durable
I actually use my phone to replace my computer and my gaming console. Red magic 6s pro but I'll be switching to rog. I have a doc for my phone that hooks up to my projector with keyboard mouse/ controller. Also there's an app for everything. Home design, image and video editing. I use it all man. I also love using my phone with my ftp kodi sever. Makes life easy.
Can you make a content having third party device gamepad that is compatible with rog 7.😊 Because they didn't release a new kunai gamepad for the rog 7.

so far so poor the famous Sabre dac on 5/5s is gone for bad also so poor no one is mentioning headphone sound quality compared to 5/5s loudspeaker might be good maybe? but lack of quality dac will keep me away

Can you please connect an HDMI out cable via type C port to External monitor or Elgato Capture Card and Check if the Display gets Stuck at 60hz ? ... its an Issue with ROG phone 3 , unable to utilize high refresh Display when streaming and recording gameplay
Asus rog phone NOT worth buying. *Don't buy*. Bought Asus Rog last yr. Got a lot problems; 1. Phone hanged suddenly. Can't on/off or restart. 2. Phone suddenly blackout/ shutdown & restart. 3. Hard to connect to service line. Always get disconnected during games and streaming. (* I checked with service provider. They say their line got no problem.*) 4. Slow loading during streaming. 5. Screen (Corning Gorilla glass Victus) supposed to survive drops onto hard, rough surfaces from up to 2 meters. I accidentally dropped my phone roughly 1 - 1.2 meters and glass broken. I never hv such problems with my previous phone. No more Asus Rog phone!!!
