I'll add some detailed fan noise and temps tests in the video next week :) The fan profiles are def a little aggressive, but only because the Intel CPU draws so much power. But it can def be turned down with custom fan profiles though

4060 and 4070 has bad fan noise but 4080/4090 with that vapor chamber significantly reduces it

Don't buy it if you don't want to pull your hair out when you try to game. Nowadays the cram such power hungry and desktop grade chipsets into such small hardware...

That's odd, because I've had this with all of my Asus laptops so far (Flow X13 2021, Flow X13 2023, G14, G16). Maybe it's an oversight, but it does feel like it shouldn't be like that 🙃

@@crimsontechyt I just returned my G16 because if this; the display unit was perfect, so realized/decided it was a defect.

I've seen a couple of comments about it, but i myself really dont find it to be bad. At full performance the CPU does get hot, and the fans kick in, but custom fan profiles and CPU wattage limitation make it very quiet for a gaming laptop imo. It's about the same as with the G14, which i use daily, and have NEVER had noise issues with :)

@@ronervine If you mean for exchanging it, it's very easy to go to Best Buy and ask for an exchange. However, I just picked up my third one and it has the same issue. It's incredibly frustrating and I'm getting close to just returning it for good. The customer service reps are all reading from a script and either tell you to exchange it or send it in for repair. I guess everyone else just deals with it. I wanted a thin, light, high quality windows machine with a strong gpu to fill the void of the macbook I had at my job. Had high hopes for this product but its not there yet.

@@ronervine If you just want to exchange or return it, you can easily do that at Best Buy. However, I'm on my third exchange and it still has the issue. I've heard two instances where ordering directly from ASUS yielded a better result so will try that. I really want to love this laptop but this is unacceptable.

There are anti burn-in features built into the panel itself, which are on by default. You don't need Armoury Crate to control it, as they are hardware features, not software. So installing G-Helper doesnt turn those off :) They're using Samsung panels, which retain all their anti burn-in functions from their previous displays, which means you could probably use it every day for 8 hours, and still not get burn-in after 5 years. A lot of tests have been done around these, and even in the cheapest modern day OLEDs, burn-in is basically non-existant during normal use :) Someone on RU-vid kept an LG C1 on the same screen for 18 months, and still didnt get burn-in. And that's an OLD panel by now. THAT BEING SAID: I'd still auto-hide the taskbar if you're concerned about burn-in, or are a HEAVY user (screen on 24/7).

The G14 is slightly more portable, but the G16 has a slightly better display. I have a full detailed comparison coming up where i cover everything, but until then, i cant tell you much 🥲 The G16 does come with a 4080 or 4090 option, which are DOUBLE as fast as the 4070 models. So if you have more money to spend, absolutely get that one :D

I have the same needs. I’m thinking about getting the G16 4080. Coming from a small laptop, feel like G14 would be uncomfortable after long hour use, display wise. 16” offers more real estate, and when seeing it in person, it actually wasn’t that heavy.

@@crimsontechyt I agree! I returned the MacBook Pro 16” and the lightness of the G16 was incomparable. I commute regularly, carrying on my back. Def would have shoulder pain after a day with the MBP 16”.

No, it should have Windows installed, unless you specifically chose a "No OS" model when you bought it (idk if Asus even does that xd)

A gaming PC with the same specs is WAY faster than a gaming laptop, and also a lot cheaper. You should only get a gaming laptop if you move around a lot, or need to use it on the go :)

@@crimsontechyt I do move around a lot but I also want to play and stream games so do you think a gaming laptop would still be good such at this one for that. Especially if I get the Zephyrus g16 with 32gb of Ram

@llroyalarkll7969 Yes, the G16 would be more than enough to play games :) The 32GB model is a great way to future proof yourself for future games as well

It depends on the settings of course, but it can easily handle it :)

@@whoiaron i play msfs2020 on zeph g16 zeph 2024(core ultra 9/rtx4070/32gram) and it could easily handle it ....not sure about vr tho...
