Don't forget this series is about to get massively undercut by the Radeon RX 6800, despite the slanted reporting on the launch and the suspicious lack of mention in the video.
There is one ASUS 3070 in the 🇬🇧 UK for press only. One card for 70 million people. WTF ASUS? Don’t believe me watch the overclockers video by Tiny Tom Logan today! Vapour Ware Launch.
Something tells me Nvidia is going to launch another faster version of these cards by next year. Those temps on the board partner cards are really low and leaves a lot of headroom for more heat exchange. Wouldn't put it past Nvidia to launch another faster version of these cards like Nvidia did with the previous generation after AMD debuts the 6000 Radeon cards. I'm not too sure about those AMD benchmark slides on the Gpu division side. The 16 GBs of VRAM sure does look nice but 16 GBs of DDR6X memory is even better.
As Indian prices concerned, Guys, Don't buy the 3070 AIB cards. At that price you'll get a 3080FE and you'll still save approximately 200$. Do not buy the AIB unless these people drop the price. koi khareedega hi nahi to jhak marke price kam karenge. They are selling them at double prices. And jinke pas extra paisa hai unko kitna bhi samjhao, they are going to buy no matter what the price is.....
I actually tried to get one this morning. Had 3 different screens being refreshed. Sold out in seconds. I didn't expect to actually get one, these launches are kind of a joke. Even though the demand is high, they have no business launching their cards with the stock that they have or more like don't have.
Just don't give into the scalpers mate. You seen to have the right attitude as far as expectation goes. I've just come to terms with myself it'll be sometime next year for me to update my 5700XT. Cheers bud
@@easley421 I didnt got one either, so i just waited till im home from work then i checked up ebay and now im going to get my 3070 gaming x trio for 850 tomorrow
@@khazaharto515 819 cad is the MSRP for the 3070 ti I paid like 50 bucks more than MSRP for Nvidia founders for my tuf 3070 ti. I paid 869. Might be a bit of a rip off but is not hundreds
@@Shawizzlegaming I got this Asus card, upgrading from a 1070. The performance is great, but I'm pretty shocked at the level of power use and the heat produced. I have an intake fan blowing directly at the card (Thermaltake CORE V21, so the card is vertical). I crank the fans on the card to max at anything past 60 degrees Celsius because I can change the fans, but not the chip if it degrades due to temps (I like to keep the chip at 55 degrees max). Using noise isolating headphones I can't hear it. Without headphones at max fans you can definitely hear it well. However at anything less than 60% fans even if I didn't use headphones it would be pretty quiet (by the way this would still keep the card below 65 degrees at all times which is perfectly OK). Depending where you're upgrading from do keep in mind that a lot of heat is produced and a lot of power gets used compared to how GPUs used to be. I had to reposition the fans in my case to get a far more efficient set up (no need for it with the 1070), otherwise the card was hitting 80 degrees even at max GPU fans during gaming, i.e. it dumps out A LOT of heat into your case which needs to be removed quickly. Just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about, when I play now I can feel my (quite large) room getting a lot warmer, whereas I never experienced this with the GTX 1070, no matter how maxed out. It's a good card and comparing the Gaming X to it I went for the Asus because it is definitely better quality Having said that, if I didn't have a case in which the card is vertically mounted I would've probably gone for the Gaming X because the Asus has no sag support whatsoever built into the card, nor do you get a support bracket. It's heavy and will in my opinion break your mobo PCIe slot easily. Hope this helps.
@@AshutoshGanotra We should take first party benchmark numbers with a grain of salt, aha. And I feel that their prices a bit too high, considering that it's AMD. We thought the 3090 was a bad proposition, but the 6900xt is even worse value for money than the 3090
When you're confident enough of the quality and content of your channel that you put a five minute ad at the end of the vid instead of the middle, knowing your viewers will watch it anyway. Well done, Steve!
The 3070 tuf costs around 670 Euros. Thats 170 more than FE and nearly 40€ more than gaming x trio ... so no they didn't (by the way FE msrp is 499€) but ofc it was all a lie from the beginning
@@user-tw8od8ie4y You are right the cards are extremely expensive here in Europe, not worth the money even if you could buy them. I am now looking for a second hand 2080ti for around 550,- euro, faster and cheaper then a 3070, NVidia what a sh%t show. (AMD is no use for me as I use CUDA for work)
@@LaskaiTamas23 for more power consumption and usually more expensive second hand (at least where i live), so yeah, sander M has no idea what he's talking about
Same in Sweden, but the rtx 3080 also seems to have another msrp 1 week after launch. Can´t seem to find a single rtx 3080 under 900$ and they are all out of stock. The rtx 3080 strix cost 1200$ hahaha.
Yeah, seems to be the case everywhere. I am pretty sure AMD prices are nowhere near the MSRP either when they launch, so if you want upgrade this year, you have to be willing to spend considerably more over the MSRP. Maybe late Q1 2021 the prices start to come down... or not, who knows.
@@azurai3934 i am assuming, yes, but at this stage the 6000 series cards are overall just better value than nvidia cards anyway. I dont mind spending a bit more on the amd cards tbh
pace yourself steve, the eyebags are making a comeback.. thanks for the content btw, I based my component choices for my last build on your recommendations, and I will rely on your reviews, especially the temps for my upcoming rtx/radeon 6000 itx build, but since stocks are so low, you need not hurry up with the reviews, less than 1% of your viewers will actually get one before next year.
@@johngray3449 FE card already has Australia tax so keeping the markup the same would already include it. Look at the Gigabyte Eagle, its the same price as the FE in US so it should be the same as the FE here but its 24% more!
It's because of taxes, import duty, etc. The 6800's msrp is higher, so it will be even more expensive hah. It really sucks that we have to pay extra just because we are not Americans
@@entropy7571 we have the resources to make our own, it would solve the problem. But most of us aren't rich enough to make a decent company to create local GPU.
Im not an Nvidia fanboy, but the 6800 costs 80 bucks more and even 20 bucks more than these two custom cards. Yeah, it is faster, but they only tested it with the memory access feature on their graphs (which should give 6% performance according to amd) which sadly only works with zen 3 cpus. So i believe that the 3070 is the only card that got not destroyed by amd. And it is a better option for me with my 3600x. The 3080 got beaten and the 3090 was destroyed by the 6900xt considering the price tag.
@@undersc0r Nah fam, just look at how 3070 is out of VRAM in every game, the 6800 beat it to death. 6800 have much lower game clock, that mean good OC after.
@@David-ty6my it's not just about the performance and VRAM. It lacks features. It doesn't have Tensor Cores, so no native Raytracing, no DLSS, no Physix, no Downsampling, no MLAA and Tress FX is dead since it wasn't used anymore after Rise of the TOmb Raider because NVidia Hairworks is almost everywhere.
@Patrick B Bro, I know this, but you said wait for AMD. I really don't think so they have enough cards at launch and they will be overpriced in other countries other than USA or CANADA. I sold my GTX 1080 for around 250 bucks in my currency about a month ago. I really need something RIGHT NOW. As he said they ask for 1000 bucks for a 3070 here also. I have 1400 $ for CPU, MOBO, GPU, and RAM I didn't buy Zen 2 because I waited for Zen 3 but I could have bought a 3900X, 32GB ram and TUF 570x for 700 bucks but I didn't .Sure I can wait 3 more weeks for sure but I have a feeling AMD will let me down.
@Patrick B They won't be in stock, AMD already uses a lot of tsmc capacity, heck, they haven't released newer apus cause they would not be able to keep the demand.
Just like the RTX 2070 couldn't really beat a 1080 Ti, The RTX 3070 can't really decisively beat a RTX 2080 Ti But AMD's Radeon RX 6800 beats both and has 16GB of VRAM.
That's not why it's gone. You wanna know, why it's actully gone? It's because you guys are addicted to looking for the next shiny thing, so when the product is actully realeased, you move on..

80USD extra, plus tax if you’re in other countries. We’re getting fucked over either way. There was a nearly 50% price increase on the 3080 - after you factor in conversion rates
October 27th - Hmm, RTX 3070 looks pretty good October 28th - Hmm, RX 6800 has 16GB VRAM and 15%-20% more performance for 16% price increase October 29th - Eh, RTX 3070 is DOA
RX 6800 won't be 15-20% faster, 3070 is cheaper, using less watts, runs cooler and has DLSS 2.0 - DoA, I think not. Tons of upcoming AAA games will have DLSS 2.0 support including Cyberpunk 2077 which I personally will be using at least 500 hours on. This game alone makes me NOT want to buy an AMD GPU. It will look and run better on Nvidia hardware. You have to be pretty stupid if you believe AMDs own numbers and cherrypicked games and AMD drivers are horrible compared to Nvidia's. I know for a fact, 5700 XT owner. The first 4 months were pretty much hell but some games are still acting weird.. Especially early titles, they pretty much always run bad on AMD GPU.
Have to remember that the 15-20% are AMDs numbers and only when used with a 500 series motherboard/5000 series cpu. The extra vram is nice though, if you play at pretty much anything but 1080p high refresh rate.
Hope you can test the entry models as well at some point. Prices here in Norway are insane. Even adding the 25% VAT you can add another 50-100 USD on top from the USD prices listed. Asus RTX 3070 TUF Gaming OC is around 785 USD unconfirmed stock in first couple of weeks of November. Most web stores don't expect any 3000 series cards until late January...
What's the point in the ventilation holes on the mounting plate of the MSI card???... the end of the heatsink is solid allowing for zero airflow out the back... I wouldn't want that in my case tbh, easy way to create a hot box 🤔🔥
How come you are the only channel that got a 3070 AIB review up? Great video but I was wondering, I was expecting all big channels to have something today.
Why it's only 5-8% faster for $350us more. I'll stick to the 6800XT. Its better to put that 350 towards the difference of a 5900 vs 5950 that will have bigger gains across the board.
@@johngray3449 Now now, lets just let this clown buy his AMD 2080ti, we can laugh at him later when he has egg on his face just like 2080ti and 3090 owners.
Could always go for the new AMD cards? But I do think waiting for reviews at this point is a good idea. Only reason I wouldn't go for the AMD cards is because I have G-Sync monitors and the drivers are usually more stable. That being said they do have more V-Ram.
Wow, you're the first with this! I started to consider this, rather than the 3080, I game at 1440p with (your, if present) optimized settings, this'd be tad enough.
Apparently they had a lot more stock this time I wonder how amd is going to handle this much demand, given that they need to prioritise the production of ryzen 5000 cpus
Steve, I bet you didn't sleep for the whole of October but you still look so fresh 😂. How do you do this man, share the secret with me, because, it takes me so much time to edit my videos, especially with the big navi launch lol
One thing I believe bears mentioning for these HDMI 2.1 GPUs: Multiple HDMI ports IS important. Sure, Displayport reigns supreme for most PC gamers on monitors, but for anyone who is using a 4K TV (which might be more people than you think since 4K TVs are far more prevalent, I think, than 4K monitors), multiple HDMI ports is incredibly important. Especially, since most A/V receivers are NOT HDMI 2.1 certified. So, if you DO have a HT setup with a HDMI 2.1 TV or are looking to upgrade to one for these GPU or next-gen consoles, having GPU with 2 HDMI ports means you can run one cable to your TV to get HDMI 2.1 things like VRR and a separate cord to something like your AVR or soundbar for audio. Most people with these HT setups aren't going to want to upgrade a TV AND an AVR just to get the new 2.1 ports on a receiver. So, having that second HDMI port is incredibly handy.
I bought an Asus Tuf Gaming 3070 in perfect conditions for 330€ in the most popular second-hand app in Spain, the guy who sold it to me was a professional, sent me videos, helped me buying the appropiate PSU, since i didnt know you must/should use *2 seperate* pcie 8-pin conectors, instead of using *1 cable* with 2 bridged 8-pins (Y) shape The 3070 has 16 pins (8+8) Each 8-pin delivers 150w. in total *300w* Imagine if, through a *single cable* that's bridged in the end (8+8), you deliver *300w* Thas alot. And in the end your card will either fail or any other harmful things may happen. If you use 2 seperate 8-pin cable from a good PSU over 800w from Corsair, EVGA or whatever, those will have *2 seperate* cables, each with an 8-pin And so we deliver 150w + 150w seperately, *instead of delivering 300w through a single cable.* That's alot of heat and power for 1 cable. Have a card with 8+8+8 pins? Same, use 3 individual cables coming from PSU I hope this helps someone. Please *DONT USE* those *bridged 8+8* pins, use the main 8 pins, and leave the other 8 pins hanging unplugged.
@@dustblowingman Same, for content creation it offers so many features that AMD is unlikely to match. If i was just gaming, then i'd look for the new amd cards, but since i do creative work, cuda/rtx adds a substantial value.

In the netherlands retailers marked them up. Only 1 shop is significantly cheaper than all the others (40-100€ per card cheaper). Asus strix is 720€, same as a base 3080... everything sold out tho.
These launches need to allow stock for preorders and actually being physically in more brick and mortar stores for instant local sales rather than trying to beat the bots online. But if the inventory never actually existed to begin with then it makes no difference, not available is not available no matter how it is handled.
I would love to see a review of the Ventus, as well as other (cheaper) 2 fan cards like Zotac. Even ASUS has a card appropriately called Dual. Would be nice to see if the 3 fan monsters are worth the price. PS: I loved how the 2080 Ti seemed to faint when put next to the 3070. :D
Why the hell would you put a heatsink fin on the VRM and then cover it with thermal pads? If that was the goal then a block of aluminium would work much better...
In newegg mexico, the 3070 is selling for 599, which is the aorus model. If you guys find a shipping service from mx to us, I think that's the best way to get one
I will be interested at some point in the (far) future in upgrading my GPU. My case has some size limitations so I would love to see reviews of smaller models, especially of the 3070 and RX 6800 cards.
the 8gb vram makes this card DOA for me. 8gb simply isnt enough for 4k, for certain titles, and for some future titles. even at 1440p youll see it near the 8gb limit. the navi cards look much much more interesting, with the 16gb vram.
Just selling my 3070 Asus Dual OC and getting a 3070 Gaming Z Trio tomorrow. Gotta pay roughly 24€ on top, but I really don't care about that bit of money considering I get a cooler and especially quieter card. Gonna miss the dual OC only for OCing. That thing was an OC beast.
Now 14 minutes in and while Newegg has sold out, best buy still has stock. Massively better than the 3080 launch. Though of course whether it is people just aren't buying it like I implied or it's just the fact it is far better stocked is up for debate.
I got the MSI 3070, but the only way I was able to get it at a decent price was to buy it in a pre-built system. That being said, I got a great computer at a great price.
To the people thinking that AMD are going to save them then I've got the feeling that you are going to be bitterly dissapointed All tech has been in short supply this year due to increased demand and there is zero indication that you are going to be able to get an AMD card any easier than an Nvidia one
Much appreciated video! Can you do again for other custom brand RTX 3070 in cheaper category e.g. Colorful Ultra, Zotac Twin, MSI Ventus? That could be great video because we only care about RTX 3070, however, we do need to know the fan speed RPM on those three cards that I've mentioned. Thank you so much for your video and reply.
