Hey thanks for the review, I have been going through tons of different headsets trying to find one that is most comfortable, unfortunately it has been rather difficult. Having a big head, big ears and wearing glasses makes it nearly impossible to find a good one. Looking at the size of the earcups on this headset, it seems as though the padding does not go very deep, which is similar problem with Steel Series Siberia v2 I used and found to be very uncomfortable. I have the hyperX cloud which are a lot more comfortable but still aren't big enough to fit my ears. The most comfortable headphones I have used are the AD700s followed by the Beyerdynamic DT990s which of course do not have mics and mainly for music. One thing I would like to see is a corporation that is involved in sound development, create a gaming headset with much bigger oversized earcups, a lot more padding that extends outwards like the AD700s do, this also means much bigger drivers, even perhaps upwards of 80-90 mm size and completely open back for a wider sound stage. Personally I believe a perfect headset would be the comfort and sound stage of the AD700s with a noise canceling mic and more emphasis on bass.
yep same as me i need 15mm cups most headphone 10 or under mm sick buying new cups find all same. only one find best over years are Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A they got big ear cups and 5.1ch good but my died so look get new ones. the got analogue 5.1ch plugs work great. have look if find ear cups buy them best feeling on ears.
thanks for your video -would you still recommend the strix 7.1? I've ordered them but also ordered the Sennheiser GX1000 amp and Sennheiser game One headset combo and will return my least favorite..
@@AhsokaTanoTheWhite not anymore, my headphpne is no longer working after those 3 years. I have my Sony Mdr7506 as my main headphones, and I may be getting the Audeze Mobius
Hi sir, nice review. Btw, which do you think is better ASUS ROG 7.1 True Surround Sound Centurion or ASUS STRIX 7.1 True Surround Sound? Ty and God bless.
+Fredrik HL Yea, or for closed back I recommend the Sennheiser game zero, really good quality headset if your setup can handle it and a good mic too boot.
they have proplems on open headphones you can hear pc and keyboard very well and mouse clicks very loud its lot not that gread then its need for mic modmic doesnt sound that great and audio phile grade headphones are expensi plus need for amp and dac that add the cost
Open headphones do have the problem he is describing. Do you deny this? I mean it's a fact so... Anyway, for gaming, true 7.1 is very beneficial. Sure, they don't sound as great at two larger and higher quality drivers, but they have benefits for gaming that you just can't get with stereo or with virtual surround (which is shitty). I have the Tiamat 7.1. Audio isn't great but I wouldn't trade it for anything as far as GAMING is concerned. Hearing exactly where enemy footsteps are is too helpful, especially in games like csgo and arma. You're clearly just following the stigma of "gaming headsets" as if the term automatically makes them inferior in every aspect. This is simply not reality.
can't find 1 video anyone get off bum connect to there systems show others how set up i need set headphones i setup Adobe Audition CC 2019 in true 7.1ch mix but can't find any review on which headphone buy get true 7.1ch analogue surround do these headphone have connect run out back my sound card into headphones so have 3 analogue cables. please show how or if these headphone can do this.
My $50 HS800 still beats the snot out of much more expensive headsets when it comes to audio quality. Build quality is ok, all plastic, but the sound when you consider the price is quite amazing.
Sure but they don't have the benefits of true That's the thing, for gaming it has some serious benefits. Stereo is generally better audio quality of course. Virtual surround is utter garbage in every headset I've tested. True 7.1 headsets are the only thing I've used that actually gives you pinpoint directional audio, which is incredibly useful (almost feels like cheating) in games like csgo.
+Selken Have to agree with you, it's kinda funny how phenomenal AD700s sound even with gaming and not using multiple drivers nor its own sound card the only downside I found to the ADs is a lack of bass in gaming or watching movies, the bass that is there is very clear there's just not much of a punch to it.
