Hi Ok time for a real particle solution to fix this problem 👍 Hope this helps . I had problems with my Asus screen, when I switched it on. The screen would lock and only would free up if I switched it of, then attached the charger and tuned it back on again. I tried soft rebooting, hard rebooting nothing worked! I eventually figured out after checking for days for malware and virus's that it was a static issue!!! The power charger attached seemed to alleviate the static issue temporarily, but the problem would return each time I switched the Asus on without the charger in? So I opened up the back and custom insulated to each screen press down connection , that connects to the board. They are slightly insulated already, usually a thin strip of plastic over the connection. This is very insufficient and doesn't repel static! After correcting this, It seems to of done the trick and my screen is fully working again with no locking 👍 the best insulator to use is bicycle puncher repair rubber, cut to small sizes and stuck over each connector. Hope you find this help full and useful👍
For me: Power on + volume down. In approx 30 seconds I saw 3 apps (RCK-ANDROID-WIPE DATA). I selected, "WIPE" (by using volume down to get to that option then when that option was high lighted I selected volume up). It asked me, "Are you sure to wipe your user data?" I selected volume up to confirm. It said to please wait a few minutes but since I had so little on the machine it took less than 2 minutes. I was brought to the "Select Language" screen and heard a beep. THERE YA GO.
Ok I tried it and it went into fast start but it froze there. I turned it off the same way power + volume down while I had it on the charger and saw the battery icon going on and it was on 50% so I hit the power button on and it started normal. Working fine so far thanks for sharing, I'll comment if it was a success or not in a few days. It's a brand new tablet I got for Christmas, it shouldn't be acting up already . It's replacing a Nexis 9 that I've had it like for 3 or 4 years that was running slow and stating to freeze lately. I'm not sure if I made a wise choice now.
I know,Right? Why bother investing money into a product that gets turned into a piece of junk by their own updates? This happened to the tablet and phone that my new ones JUST replaced and my laptop. I'm really beginning to believe its all just a huge scam to cash bleed us dry, by "update" killing our electronics every couple of months and charging us more for even providing information on what they've done to us! I'm dead seriously thinking about just throwing it all away and going back to a landline phone, library books, magazine's and newspapers. Cheaper and WAY more reliable .My new tablets home and task buttons on the task bar don't work at all now! They don't support that any more?? What a rip off!!
I forgot my gmail account and so can I still reset my transformer and start from brand new without this. My Asus is five years old and apparently you can unlock without password and gmail account. Is this correct. Thanks for video
Great vdo. My problem: I have 2 email address's on my Asus TF101. They work fine. I want to add a third, my mac address, but message keeps coming up: "Wrong name id, or wrong password." Is it possible to add a third email address, without having access to my password? (Or create a new password, just for the Asus?) I've tried every password I have on file. None work. The Mac email address works fine on my mac. Thanks in advance.
I tried what you said and it's stuck at a window saying Verizon with running lights. It won't turn off or advance to anything else. Got any ideas for me please?
It did bring up the two Apps and the recovery App blinked for a few seconds. Then I turned it off. When I turned it on again stays on the Eee Pad logo and will not finish booting up. No task bar at the bottom either. It is charged with a green light. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I tried it this morning and it did reset. But when I turn it back on it is stuck on the opening page (Eee Pad and ASUS logo). I can not get it to boot up. The task bar is not there either. The green battery light is on so battery should be good. What do I try next? Thank you
My ASUS has volume on side and button on top. Nothing happened as described here. It might have been helpful to have been able to view the screen as you did this. As it stands, the video was of no help to me .
Aisling O sullivan maybe you should try what I did. You have to be patient and hold the button down for about 1 min. Mine came on after I tried the how to video but just stayed with the logo on. I plugged it in and turn it off the same way and sow the battery icon come on and read 50%. I then hit the power button and it came on normally after it updated a few app, been working fine for now at least, good luck.
He never showed the screen. It appears when I follow these directions all I get is the Android bot w/a warning triangle over it & the message "No Command".
I'm not sure what happened to mine. it worked an entire night and then the next day I tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't power up. charged it a whole day. nothing tried resetting it. still nothing
Rookie Shoelace I recommend this website: www.hardreset.info/devices/asus/asus-me181cx-memo-pad-8/ it is very useful in order to get ur tab to work :) if it is a KO11 model, press reboot so it turns on :]
next time try hitting the up button two times. That worked for me. It reset but mine is still stuck on the opening page logo. Hopefully it will work for you
