Awesome. Pretty clear video. I had issues with removing the back cover. Looking at other videos, it seemed that the key was to wedge a metal tool between the glass and bezel. WRONG! For others having issues, it's really pretty simple. Look at the bottom of the unit where the metal keyboard slots are. You'll notice how the plastic back cover molds around the slots. Insert a guitar pic/tool in the gap between the metal slot and the front screen. Slide the tool to the edge. You will hear a click/pop indicating the clip has disengaged. Then, just slide the tool all the way around, between the bezel and back cover until all the clips are disengaged. I highly recommend nitrile/cloth type gloves the poster is wearing. (LOWES) I took my right glove off and ended up cutting myself with the cracked screen somehow. Bandaid, antibiotic ointment, safety goggles, and glove back on before I was able to continue. The screen ended up cracking a lot on the bottom...little itty bits, so goggles and gloves are HIGHLY recommended.
Thank you very much - the video was most helpful! Everything worked just like you've depicted it, except that my replacement glass had an additional protection layer on the inside that had to be pulled off. Thanks again!
Followed your steps and fixed my T100TA for $22 (eBay). Thank you! Hardest part was getting the old screen off. I think I just needed more heat to melt the adhesive better...
Great video. Wife just broke her ausu t100. But one suggestion the person operating the camera should of asked when to move the camera and when to zoom in. It was a little difficult to follow.
Also, be sure to have cleaning cloth and solution/alcohol available. A little of the tape residue ended up on my LCD. The cloth is also helpful to remove dust specks from the LCD before new screen installation.
Please , I need help : ¿ Where is located the hard disk in a Notebook Asus T100 ? Cant find nothing ... Cant believe this problem ...¿ You know about the location of the SSD disk ? Th anks for your video , easy and clear . Bernardo
Hi! I had also asus tx201la. My glass was broken also..in this case did it affect also the that the tablet won't turn on?mine is not. I keep on charging but the charging indicator is always in orange color. Please give me any idea about this. Thanks
Yeah, it's two parts. The digitizer/touch screen (the black framed clear panel you see him remove and change) and then the lcd that sits underneath. Much cheaper to only have to replace a digitizer, as opposed to that + lcd.
@Jessika Hoover You can order the parts online from ebay or amazon and if you cant assemble it yourself go to any tech repair shop and they will do it for you for a small fee

hi thanks for your video... i need to ask you if you have the all ekt file for tf300t....i can found only the 48.20... i need in particular the ekt file for g03 digitizer many thanks
I recently cracked my ASUS T100 digitizer . I got my replacement digitizer already, and I also got the old glass off. The only thing I need to do is get the new digitizer connected. However, when I tried it, it will not respond. Either the new digitizer is faulty or it could be something else. I do remember leaving the computer on while trying to melt the glue from the old digitizer. I read something about the fuse connection getting burned if you leave the power on while the digitizer is unplugged. Do you think that's what might have happened? Is there anything else that could have happened? How would I go about fixing this?
+etraise2 Exactly the same boat - replaced screen, meticulously, but when completed (and ensured the connector is fully seated and locked), everything works except touch -_- Also, before replacing it, the cracked screen didn't respond to touch, either; though most phones/tables I've used still worked when the touch glass was cracked... By chance, what replacement screen did you get? Did it come in a box saying "Dig Repair" on the top?
You need to order correct part, look on digitizer cable there is pat number which ends with G01 or similar. The ending 3 characters must match for it to work properly.
Yesterday changed touchscreen and all works, like OEM. Only issue that it didn't come with glue so it is not flush and I had trouble to clean off dirt from LCD. Next time I would use gloves and buy "Swellder Sticker Double Side Adhesive Glue Tape for Repair Touch Screen Digitizer". Also important is to disconnect battery or set microswitch on side to [off] position before disconnecting touchscreen otherwise the digitizer fuse can blow and it won't work afterwards without resoldering the fuse.
Others have mentioned a fuse as well. Not only doesn't that make sense, but if the touchscreen controller had a fuse, it wouldn't be enumerated in Device Manager either... right? I searched high and low on mine, couldn't find anything resembling a fuse (marked or otherwise) on the board, even testing various components that may be a fuse - nothing. Also, the part number of the replacement exactly matches the original OEM part. However, they are obviously different; the traces running through the ribbon cable are slightly different (though they appear to serve the same points). I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) tablet with the same style of touchscreen connector, and itself is riddled with touchscreen gremlins. Seems Asus just has a god awful design for touchscreens. On one tablet, a "Dig Repair" replacement worked fine, and on another identical tablet, the same exact replacement provides a completely unusable touchscreen (doesn't detect 75% of the screen).
Matt Falcon First was the power switch still on and the battery plugged in when you detached the original screen? This could have caused a small surge and blown out a micro fuse or some micro electronic piece. Its located near the digitizer cable. You would see a small scorch mark there. You will have to run a jumper to get it to work. Just bypass it with solder. Second you could have the wrong digitizer. There are several models. Make sure the part number matches the old one. Third. the cable could still not be in all the way. check this first. It shouldnt need any type of software upgrade or update to work.
Hi!we have the same query..as of now do you have any update on how to disassemble the tx201la?or how was your unit now did it fix already?please let me know.thanks
