Well done bro, after the change of thermal paste the temperature difference is really insane. It will extend the life of the laptop

Thank you bro. Yeah you're right. But I'm still confused since there is still no significant increase in performance. I suspect my laptop's GPU is a factory defect.

@@breaktimewithdon6503 Changing the thermal paste will not make the laptop more powerful, on the other hand it will heat less, less noise and more stable. For the next one I strongly recommend a 17 inch model ;)

So i know this is 3 years old but you should really consider disconnecting your battery before working on your laptop. I think you went a little overboard with the paste as well. Typically the less is more approach is recommended. As long as you have enough to cover the die you are good. Some even say that thicker will actually harm your temps but in some of the tests I've seen it doesn't make much of a difference regarding temps if you add more or less so its honestly just a waste to use so much.

Wow thank you so much for the tips. I really didn't know that until you told me, especially about disconnecting the battery.

Hello, I changed the thermal paste without removing the battery, and after finishing, the laptop stopped working. What is the problem and how can it be solved?
@Ruoja71
@Ruoja71 3 года назад
is such "huge load" of thermal paste really required? I changed mine a few months ago but only aplied a thin layer. My performance improved drastically and temperatures decreased by a good 30*C but watching you doing it gave me second thoughts...
@breaktimewithdon6503
@breaktimewithdon6503 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment. Hahaha, honestly I myself don't know much about this thermal paste thing, I just watched another RU-vid videos and they applied the thermal paste a bit thicker and evenly to whole surface of CPU or GPU.
@Ruoja71
@Ruoja71 3 года назад
@@breaktimewithdon6503 Yeah. Long time ago when I was building my first tower I've been told to put a "pea" of thermal paste and it should squeeze evenly under the radiator. But technology has progressed since that time a lot. Now I just spread it evenly like you, but the layer is something like 0,5mm thick. Recently when helping a friend with his new CPU fan his dad told me to act fast before the paste dries out. That's basically all the knowladge I ever got... :D

Can someone tell me what is the diameter or size of the screws the connect the heat sink to the motherboard. Hi! Thanks for your comment. Honestly, I don't recommend you buy this laptop. There are plenty of new gaming laptop choices out there that are more powerful with the same price. I think AMD x Nvidia gaming laptops are the best ones today. And make sure your choice has an 8-core CPU. Cheers!
