Hey Laurent! Informative review as always. I just wanted to draw your attention to a small error in one of the graphics. If all 16 phases put out 70A each, then the CPU should be getting 980 amps, and the total available value should be 1,120. You labeled all of the phases as being 70A, but the ones responsible for the CPU add up to 840A or 60A each in the graphic at 14:20.

@@yufoh7753Hello everyone, I'm stuck between this board and the ROG STRIX X670E-E wifi. There is a difference of 215 $. Actually the features of the board are completely sufficient for me (I will plug in one rtx4090, use one m2, and there are 3 2x2 usb's in the back, these are enough). The only thing I can think of is the number of VRMs; 16 for tuf, 20 for rog. I was thinking of 7900x as processor, maybe 7950x. Is 16 VRM enough or will I have problems? I suspect your Power Supply is the one caused it. Right now, I'm still using PC from 2012 and this motherboard is the cheapest one from Asus. It's still operational till this days. Wondering a bit - new here and just watched the MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WIFI review where the "had to flash BIOS before boot" was the big nono. Together with some other points where it sounded a bit like "well done Asus" vs. "gimme a break MSI" for the very same feature...
@Laurentschoice
@Laurentschoice 10 месяцев назад
For me, these features needs to be put in context. If a manufacturer places an extr feature while missing fundamentals... it's a big nono. On the other hand, if all the fundamentals are covered and we get extra stuff... it's a kudos ! That's why the same feature can lead to different appreciations. :) Thanks so much for being here. The chipset on this board gets extremely hot. on my ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WiFi motherboard, the chipset temperature according to HWiNFO without forced cooling in an open state (without a case) reaches 80 degrees Celsius at an ambient temperature of 26 degrees Celsius (without any overclocking operations and when the system is idle). With 140mm Bi Quiet forced air, the temperature never drops below 53 degrees Celsius. This is epic fail!!!

Which mobo do you recommend for 7950x?
@neurabrain
@neurabrain 4 месяца назад
@@gugueta5 This is my first purchase of a platform on Ryzen and the last (after the discovery that the chipset consumes 7+7 watts and gets so hot), now only Intel, so I can’t advise anything. but if you still want to, then I would take a closer look at the msi x670e carbon wifi, because the chipset heatsink seems more massive and even if it also gets hot there due to the fact that the chipsets are located together and not under the video card, you can organize the airflow yourself (on Asus this is impossible because the video card blocks everything)

Mine is at 60c. Thermaltake View 71 case. (edit). I just ran Watch Dogs Legion and the chipset temps #1 61.9c max. #2 63.7 max. (edit) I changed the minimum gpu fan speeds to 30%. Now @ 45.6 and 50.1. 7900x3d / Strix 4090 oc.

6400MT/s memory support is kinda low comparing to Asrock, MSI and Gigabyte X670. btw at 6:55, the orange M.2 slot at the bottom right is conneted to the CPU socket, not the chipset.

X670 will support around 2 max 3 Gens. They already said 2025 will be finished or 2024...dont remember anymore but that means 7000 and 2 years later the next gen and than kts over

i have this motherboard and have been running it with no issues other than not being able to enable docp profile on my ram. motherboard boots to safe mode and asks to undo any bios changes made. one i remove docp computer boots fine. also i noticed on the back of my motherboard there appears to be some type of leakage coming from the front vrm pads or something and has stained the back part of the motherboard.

Really disappointed in this, having seen the Z690 TUF I was hoping the X670E would be comparable connectivity wise, is there some kind of flaw with Ryzen CPUs that means you can't plug in more than three PCI-E cards including the GPU or something?
@Laurentschoice
@Laurentschoice Год назад
No. Just that ASUS did not want to cannibalise its strix. As I said in the -P review, it seems like Asus wants to charge more for less

Q LED will come forsure soon also to Tuf because of the insane Price of X mainboards. At least to the X Mainboards. Maybe 1 or 2 Mainboard gens and than they add it. They need new ideas for their MBs so they will do it one day.

Hi Laurent. Do you know if this mobo can support a 2x48GB Corsair Vengeance set? I understand x670E in general now support 48GB RAMs but I wonder if this one too? I looked up the support page for this mobo and the RGB version of my RAM set is supported, but not the non-RGB (which is the one I'd like to get). I just have this thought that the support page lacks more RAM models listed because they haven't been tested (for example, ROG Strix Gaming has many of 2x48GB model listed as supported, including my model)...
@Laurentschoice
@Laurentschoice 8 месяцев назад
It does support 48 as well as long as u update the BIOS. Not all the supported RAM sticks are listed. If the RGB version is supported, chances are that urs are too

Aren't the Prime Pro Wifi and TUF Gaming x670e identical boards? everything seems exactly the same, except the prime pro has a metal brace for the graphics card, and is 50 bucks more expensive. Tuf is the best value for x670e easily.

Can't really understand what you mean at 11:33. Does that mean if I connect a pcie5 nvme SSD, that I can't use the speed of a GPU with pcie 5?
@Laurentschoice
@Laurentschoice Год назад
No, that was a graphic for the X670 chipset(s) which only extends PCIe 5 support to the CPU linked NVMe. On this particular board, even if u use a pcie 5.0 NVMe, you can also use the the full extent of the CPU linked PCIe (5) export.
