I've been using this laptop for 3+ years (intel ver) because this is what my parents happen to have bought me then. I did use to play light games like hades, rocket league, stardew valley, etc. and it worked... despite it crashing sometimes... until around 2 years of light gaming, cpu degraded (definitely due to overheating) and I couldn't play them anymore due to the stutters and constant crashing. Even if you use the best thermal paste out there like kryonaut you will still be averaging around 60-85 temp on light usage and 90+ when gaming because the cooling system SUCKS! Ideally you want the fan to be blowing out the heat on the other end of the heatsink. I only use it for browsing and schoolworks now, so it doesn't crash anymore. Guys pls dont buy the cheapest thing u can find out there even from a reputable brand, always settle for a midpoint between quality + price.

I saw this laptop's teardown shots and immediately surprised with the cooler orientation. Simply, the cooler intake is literally the bottom and blows air through almost entire board where CPU and other important parts are residing in. This may work and most of users of this kind of budget laptops will not bother the performance degradation due to throttling too much. But, not a fan of this kind of strange design.

it is funny how the price on these got low. bought one for me last week at bestbuy and yesterday for my dad. mine came with ryzen3 unfortunately no backlit light "only if i knew before opening it" and his does have eve the touch id. I'm upgrading the crap out of this thing lol, not for gaming purposes, mostly for school, bought a faster ssd, more ram, and wifi card with a 2.5ssd, main will use m.2 anyways awesome for budget if you are considering, just note to self, after a week of use, this thing start to overheat, I saw another person online with the same issue, nothiing with asus, it is more of amd, should consider repaste, im repasting mine asa my parts arrive today for modification.
