This video is now rather old, I have sold the asus long time ago, and cannot answer any more questions about it.
This video is a walkthrough on how to replace the solid state m.2 ssd disk in an Asus Zen all-in-one computer. The computer is hard to open and service, and it can be difficult for users without the necessary skill. The machine is an ASUS Zen AIO Pro Z240ic-H110.

Nice video especially the part of opening up the machine. I suggest a couple of improvements. Before taking the machine apart, use a hardware detection program to determine the type of SSD installed. Mine had a M2 Sata drive, and not an Nvme M2 drive. I checked before so I bought the correct type:-) Secondly if you clone your currently installed SSD with a USB housing for the new SSD. (there also make sure you buy the correct type, I found out the hard way a couple of years ago and therefore have now a USB housing for M2 Nvme drives and one for M2 Sata drives) Then use a cloning program to clone your old still installed 128 GB SSD to your larger new SSD. After that shutdown the computer and follow the video. Once re-assembled, start up the PC with the newly installed drive and you have exactly your same PC however with one change..... a lot more breathing space on the C: drive.

I've upgraded my HDD thanks to this wonderful video, hope you enjoy a cup of coffee. Opening the monitor part was not easy. And I was horrified when the monitor showed only black screen after the first booting. I connected the video cable to the monitor, which was a little bit tricky because I am not a tech-guy type, and then the monitor worked fine again. Tip for attaching video cable : close the black plastic cover after attaching the video cable strip to monitor part.

They really do not want you inside these things, ugh, I hate glued parts, but I have to do this for a client as the computer has a dead HDD in it. Thanks for the wonderful video, I needed this!

You might wish to try a pair of suction cups made for handling glass. Small ones (about 100 mm diameter) are not too expensive, and are worth the investment if you work on all-in-ones like this. These have a handle that swivels to apply suction, and lock in place. That looks like it packed tighter than a can of sardines.

Hi, I have the same model with a sixth generation i7 processor, 8gb RAM and 1Tb hard drive with an nvidia 920 graphics card. The computer is not running as fast as it should. I don't know if the reason is because you have an HDD and it takes a long time to open programs or it just crashes. Can I replace a hard drive in that model? Cheers.

I've tried to install a m.2 ssd disk Kingston A1000 960gb on a z240ic-h110 but in the ASUS uefi bios the disk is invisible. Have you never plug-off the toshiba 1tb? What your setting in the uefi bios? tnx Luigi

Seeing swap the SSD and re-installing the OS I always ask myself whether there would be a way to transfer the existing OS installation. Would it be two HDD they could be simply connected at the same time while transferring with an USB started Clonezilla or similar tool. PCs only have one SSD-connecction, right?

CPU cooler is 4pin 13PT01D1p02111-15BH-31P ( KSB0612HB_752 12v, 0,4a ). Same as cooler Asus G750 GPU (12v) - but its more noise

I just feel uncomfortable with the heat and the glue, I don't have anything to make heat and I don't want the plastic put ugly, but I want to changed the thermal paste so idk what to do

Hi, I liked the video, I also have a computer of this type, I bought an SSD from western digital, model wd blue sn 500 NVME. Same model as the model you mounted on your computer but for some reason the computer does not recognize the SSD, from a test I did I came to the conclusion that the SSD is installed I have this computer SATA 3, and not NVME, how did you manage to perform the installation in your illustration? When the interface is SATA3. Thank you

Thank you! Very useful indeed. One question please: I see the old SSD was a M.2 mSATA and the new one you added ( Kingston A1000) is a NVME PCIe. Am I correct to assume it supports NVME M.2 SSD cards? My motherboard is ZN241IC ( 2017 model)

Not all m.2 drives are nvme, but all nvme drives are m.2.

If you get a m.2 3.2 drive tray you can infact... but remember the sata connector is going to drop the m.2 to the sata speeds not the nvme or m.2 speeds.

My friend thanks for your video, but I tried to replace with a HP SSD EX900 M.2 nvme but my PC doesn't recognized the device. I checked in the BIOS but only recognized SATA DISKS, I don`t know what is the problem... I thankful if you can help me.

Hi, thanks so much for the video, I followed it step-by-step and successfully installed a 512GB m2.SSD. The SSD has a full-disk clone of the original HD, even though the SSD is reorganized by both bios and Windows10, I am unable to make it bootable. I assume you are able to boot from your SSD, if that is indeed the case, could you let me know your version of the bios? Mine is 0705 (March 2016). I have been struggling with this for days and would be grateful for any comments and suggestion you might have. BB

@@Arcticretro Thank you. I have a few questions. I have Asus Zen All in One Pro Z240IE (Z240-PRO7SD) Production year: October 2017. Specifications: 8mb cache 2.90 GHz Intel core i7 7700T processor, 16gb DDR4 2400mhz RAM (8 GB X2), 1tb 5400rmp HDD, 128gb SSD M.2 SATA 3. Usage Type: No games. No graphics softwares. Home user. But sometimes transfer large data like Blu-ray movies and work with large office word files. The Pc is now in the technical service for noisy working issue. They will replace the cooling fan. I wanted to upgrade at the same time via IT. Since it's all in one Pc I can't open it all by myself. Only RAM and storage units can be upgraded. I want to upgrade and change 16gb RAM with "CORSAIR 32gb (2x16gb) 2400mhz DDR4 CMK16GX4M1A2400C16", 128 SSD with "SAMSUNG 970 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD 512gb" and lastly 1tb HDD with "SAMSUNG 860 Pro 1tb 560mb-530gb/s Sata3 2.5" SSD (MZ-76P1T0BW)" *I made the selection of parts with very limited technical knowledge. Is the brand / model preference correct? A better suggestion? *Will these changes affect performance? *Does it contribute to work PC quieter? *Are the parts compatible? Do I have any problems due to part replacement? The underlying reason for my desire to replace the SSD with SSD is that besides the capacity increase (Windows will be installed in this part), I think it will contribute positively to the overall performance of the PC, as it is a new technology. The reason why I want to replace the HDD with SSD is that it may also affect the overall performance, speed (I use it as a storage) while transferring data, and the other reason is that maybe it may contribute to the quiet operation of the PC, even if a little. I think its the same, just change RAM instead of SSD.

@@RaphaEntertainments i am not sure, but if its not under holed metal plate, in the same side with SSD, then RAM must be under metal film on back side of motherboard.
