The centre for asylum seekers in Chiasso, on the Italian border, has been in the news over the past few months due to fights among newcomers. Some politicians have exploited the incidents in order to call for the centre's closure. But the violence has been an exception to the normally peaceful living conditions at the place. To counteract the negative headlines and overcome prejudices, the centre organizes cultural activities, which includes a visit to the sculpture museum Vela, in the nearby village of Ligornetto. 1:58 Sleeps in a Swiss bed under a Swiss roof with Swiss food set before him and has the gall to imply that his countrymen would gladly welcome a comparable influx of foreigners! It's true that the land of Khaled Abdul-Wahab is one of the least bad Muslim countries to be (for instance) a Jew, and recent developments lend one a (cautious) optimism, but does he really think that back home they'd be happy to see a sixty-one-fold increase of Tunisia's Jewish population (back to the 105,000 that were there before 1948)? Switzerland: 8.2M people (incl. approx. 1.6M non-Swiss Europeans and 0.3M non-Europeans). Tunisia: 11M people (98% Berber-Arab, 1% European, 1% Jewish [approx. 1700]).
