I suppose the temptation is high when you have girls throwing themselves at you all the time with their boobs hanging out and tight Daisy Dukes. Having grown up in Boston I was never a fan of country music. I was rock and roll all the way. Until I heard George Strait in the 1990's. I was hooked. His pure voice and emotion touched my heart like music never before. I then started listening to his earlier songs and realized what I had missed. Not only did I learn to love his music, but I also learned to love country and all of the artists of the day. Unfortunately, today's country isn't even close. By the way. I am a 65-year-old guy with 8 grandchildren who is not afraid to admit that country music made me laugh and made me cry. Most of today's country just makes me change the station. Thank you George Strait for opening my eyes and my heart.

I know what you mean. I never listened to country either until I was station surfing one day and heard Amarillo by morning. Wow. That song just grabbed me and held on. They said it was some guy named George Strait. Never heard of him but I sure did like it. Later I bought a Straight CD , Ocean Front Property. Oh boy, now I'm hooked.

Yes.. I agree. Without her encouragement of George, he might not have ever been as famous as he became. Faithful and strong 💪 both of them for each other.. In as much as I use to like Garth Brooks music, his Divorce and lifestyle just can not be compared to being even on the same level as George Straight. George Straights image and life style embodies every ideal of country, in country music.

I have seen him in concert in Texas at the rodeo dozens of times. George is the man who made country cool. His voice, no matter what song is soothing, he doesn't shout the words out at you when he's in concert. He's one of two of my most favorite male country artist of all times. When I heard about his daughter's demise I felt so sorry for him and his family for their loss. There will never be another entertainer like George Strait, he's number one of all times. Congratulations for all your success and entertainment you have given to us all.

I love Garths music. I love his performances. The man can cause a small earthquake at his LSU concerts. However, as far as him personally, I can't stand him. Tom Cruise is my favorite actor. I own a lot of his movies, more of his than any other actor. But as far as what I know about him, I don't like him. That's the way I look at things. I like songs, not necessarily the singer. Absolutely love this gentle man, he converted me to country music,I had the unexpected pleasure of riding in the elevator with his beautiful Lady and Darling Son. We were going to wait for the next one but she said no come on with us. She did not tell us who she was but we knew. On the ride up she asked us who we were there to see lol so we started gushing about how we try to go to every concert. We told her we thought he was very special ...his Son said but Mom lololo well the doors open and we left. I will never forget how normal down to earth she was and seemed interested in us wow. My mom used to fly Mr. Straight on a private gulf stream plane back in the early to mid 2000's. She said he was one of the nicest she ever flew regularly. Always nice and just wanted the basics. She really enjoyed flying with him. She said most weren't so nice in real life. Thanks for treating my mom well sir.

George is so genuine country. I still remember when his daughter was killed in San Marcos. We used to go watch him sing in local honky Tonks . Talk about a thrill of a lifetime-back then we knew he was the real deal. I remember going to bars and rumors flying around George was in the place. He actually lived up the street from me but I didn’t want to bother him so I stayed my distance. He will always be a part of my college/ early life as I know it.

I know he'd never remember it but in 1980, on Sunday afternoon, I got to two-step with George at Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas...just outside of New Braunfels. The next year I was listening to KKYX in San Antonio and they announced a newcomer to country music from Pearsall, Texas by the name of George Strait!!! I sure felt privileged to have had about 2 minutes of two-steppin' with someone who was now a star!!! I've loved his music from that first day in Gruene... there'll never be another George Strait!!! I started listening to George Strait in 1981 and fell in love with his music. Then I was fortunate enough to see him in two different concerts. The more I read about him I realized what a great person he was especially with his family. Even through a tragedy their family held strong together. Having your wife by your side is the greatest compliment she can pay you! Wanting here there is the biggest compliment you can pay her!! I lost the "love of my life" to MSA in 2012, greatest loss of my life! We only had a wonderful 45 years together. We were planning on 80! Didn't work out though! Sure do miss her! Her favorite movie was "Pure Country!"

George is one of the best country singer , That’s my opinion. He’s a devoted father and husband and grandfather . He’s was blessed with the love of his life. I always love the fact that he stuck to his guns and never change who he was and believed in.He’s all country and I love that about him. May god bless you and your Beautiful family. George Strait is truly the "King" of Country Music. He is not only fantastic with his great music but he is a great human being. With all his notoriety, he stayed true to his family, he gives credit to his wife for her part in his success. He has been my favorite since I heard him the first time. I am 82 years old and he will forever be the greatest singer for me until I leave this earthly home. I wish him the very best!

George is an icon and although his parents split up he was raised with great family values I have been a fan for years since the eighties I’ve been to many concerts I believe it is because of those great family values and keeping his private life private his loyalty to his wife and family and grateful for his many fans these are the things that people want to see and hear and the fact that he never forgot his roots and he gives back to the community… George Strait is one of my very favorite musicians I have a lot of his albums and I’m a loyal living fan ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗

Back in 1983 he stopped in Omaha for two sets, on their way to Minnesota State Fair. I had the opportunity to walk him to the stage. I’ve been a huge fan since 1981. He and I shook hands prior to walking him to the stage. I thought it was cool.

George Strait has always been my favorite country singer, got to see George Strait in concert in Lubbock Tx as a teen when my older brother bought tickets for all of us.. I also thought it was neat how he never involved his family but kept family life personal- that’s what set him apart of other singers that shared their drama, divorces and love life with media.. total respect for the Strait family..

George Strait was and will always be one of my favorite country singers. He didn't sell out the country sound like many of the newer country singers have. George Strait will always be the greatest Country singer of all time. Wish we had more Iike him! We still have a few older singers but don't hear their Music Anymore. Only on new awards shows.
