And of course there's her deceased best friend's widower who she married for 3 months in order to provide comfort for each other. Now I hear she's hanging out with Harry Styles. Omg! Woman is refusing to accept her age because she thinks she's Rhiannon, ok? 👍🏻
The first time I saw Stevie Nicks was at a Del Mar High School Dance in San Jose, California. It was probably 1970 or 71 since I graduated in 1972. The band was called Fritz Rabyne. I was standing right up front and I remember thinking they were fantastic, especially the singer! In particular I remember her doing a great rendition of the song “Mockingbird”. She obviously made a huge impression on me since I never forgot her and I remembered Stevie specifically when I first heard of Fleetwood Mac. I remembered her distinctive voice! And that I even remember her doing a particular cover of a song when I don’t even remember who the original artist is, well that’s saying something!
Fleetwood Mac originally didn’t want Stevie Nicks to be in the band. Lindsey Buckingham said he would only join if Stevie came with him. The rest is history.
Actually, they were indifferent toward Nicks initially, and were only looking for a guitarist. So it was that they didn't want her...but they already had a female singer. Buckingham did insist they were a pair and would only join if they bring in Nicks in along with him. And Mick agreed...according to Nicks the group had dinner one night and she and Christine got along very well, which solidified Buckingham Nicks joining the band.
Back in the late 80's I was at a private party in the Hollywood Hills. The hostess was one of the directors of the Soap Opera, General Hospital. At one point during the evening, a beautiful yet familiar voice rang out behind me. when I turned around, there was Stevie standing in the middle of the room singing acapella. I cherish this moment.
I was a bouncer at the Hollywood Palace on Vine during the 80's, Partied with Robyn Bernard, lifted weights at Gold's gym with Steven Bond, GH casting director I believe was Marvin Paige? What an eye for talent, John Stamos and Demi Moore? I attended a party once in Pasadena and A. Martinez was there...I think he was on Santa Barbara, but years later, I came to truly appreciate his acting ability. Coolest acts I met were when Expose first added Jeannette, Gioa, and Ann, super humble, gorgeous, and could really sing. Stevie Nicks had some huge hits back on MTV when it actually was relevant. As far as her belief, "those who say they can, and those who say they can't...are both right."

When Fleetwood Mac hit the mainstream, I snubbed them because they weren't punk or new wave or politically rebellious. Flash forward to the opening stealth and spy scene in The Americans, and I find out that was Tusk, and this began in me, only about 8 years ago or whenever the Americans came out, a complete enthrallment with all things Stevie, Christine RIP, Buckingham, Mick, McVie, Green and so on. Funny how these days I'll sooner put on a Fleetwood Mac record, than The Clash... Stevie Nicks; you are an artist's artist, woman, heroine, star and beauty. How many women have I known and enjoyed dancing with or just watch showing up at parties, dressed the way you made it cool to dress. There seemed to be such incredible communication there on the wavelength of wardrobe. But none of them had your mystical voice. And how your voice was so complimented by Christine's... Thank you . Both you and Christine are so loved, the world around.

That’s one way that writers ease their pain & sell their product. Everyone’s been touched by both heartache & happiness because of LOVE!!! Knowing that has lined her pockets millions of bucks over!!! Such is The Nature of the Beast!!! It just goes on & on!!! And I’m sure this music will go on for the rest of my life as I am in my 67th year and then some other young gals will hear Stevie & say,,, “That’s MY Song!!!” Who knew MY Feelings SO well as to have written THIS Song??? And hopefully 🤞🏻 in the background a youngster will say,,,” THAT was My Nanas Favorite Singer / Song Writer of all times!!! Who knows,,, Perhaps my son will play a worn out cassette with me singing Dreams & So Far Away & You’ve Got a Friend while He played for me as he was just learning Guitar Well. It’s NOT really a long STRETCH of one’s imagination!!! If it were,,, we’d still be hearing Stephanie Nicks singin with her Grandpa & Me singing with my favorite Brother who taught me to sing along with an instrument & not just the radio. Wait,,, THAT WOULD BE A WELCOME TIME FOR ME. It’s in my most Favorite memories!!! Ever since that song came out!!!

Have you ever seen her in concert? Absolutely amazing, and I have seen Fleetwood Mac on the tour before Christine passed, but it wasn’t the same bc Lindsey didn’t want to tour for another year. It was good, but I loved Stevie more. ❤❤❤

Am sure Stevie prob endured this side of him at one point. You could love someone like crazy but sometimes you can’t change them.
I hope I’m not taking away anyone’s illusions but literally everybody in the band f*cked around with everybody. They’re adults and do what they do, but you’d be hard pressed to find True Love in this tangle.

The truth is, Joe was married at the time and his daughter from this marriage was VERY unhappy Nicks talked about the affair while he was married to her mother.

Her music tells the story of my teenage and young adult years. Each song brings back memories of the time it was released. Never followed her personal life, or any star's for that matter, I had my hands full managing my own life.

September 7, 1977. Fleetwood Mac played Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. That concert was my very first of many! I was only 10 years old and went with a friend. WHAT were my parents thinking 😂. WOW have times changed but their music will always be my favourite.
Stevie was hurt by lindsey at their hall of fame induction. Lindsey rolled his eyes when she was speaking onstage. That's when she gave the group the ultimatum her or him. Saying Joe was the one is just a dig at Lindsey, we'll probably never know for sure but this is how I see it.
I think I would agree with some of the other commenters that she's kidding herself. She's still completely "entangled" with Lindsey but cant bring herself to admit it.
It seems Nicks had many "loves of her life" and none lasted. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo have been married for over 40 years, raised children too, so it can be done if both REALLY love each other.

Stevie admits she thought she was in love with Joe for years. She wrote several songs about and for him. She also said she was on a lot of drugs at the time and It appears she now believes the drugs had something to do with how she felt about Joe. I believe she's still remembers him fondly but he's no longer the love of her life. She never even mentions him anymore. Joe for his part treated Stevie badly (he was also on drugs) he treated her like a groupie at times and dumped her quickly when she refused to hang out with him and his friends. I'm glad she's not with him anymore.
Always loved her music from the beginning. My grandchildren listens to her music with me, too. I have seen her in Fleetwood Mac 3 times and solo once. Her performances were mesmerizing .
Have ALWAYS LOVED STEVIE....She is an icon and a poet and one hell of a courageous woman... don't believe anything you hear or read...it was and always will be LINDSEY ❤ watched 3 concerts and they are each other's soul

Then she made him leave the band at her request in 2018. “I could publicly reflect on the many reasons why, and perhaps I will do that someday in a memoir, but suffice it to say we could start in 1968 and work up to 2018 with a litany of very precise reasons why I will not work with him.” She was never in love with him, she just needed him to further her dream of becoming a rockstar. Once she was his use wasn’t needed anymore.
So so do grateful to be raised in this music era. Stevie nicks I will be apart of me till I die. Iam 63 and have a 8 year old son. I feel sorry for the new generation to be deprived of such glorious song writing and true talent. But I do play only my music for him so that one day he will know how much I wanted him to experience timeless music.
She was completely obnoxious and unrelenting, bugging Petty to no end to write AND sing a song with him, he finally did to get her off his back. Then her single with him, credited as hers on her album, to his horror, beat his single released at the same time on the radio. She seems to have been a nightmare really to many people she was involved with. 😒
Interesting that when Howard Stern told Joe Walsh Stevie said he was the love her life, Joe commented on their professional relationship. Doesn't sound like he shares her view. I think Stevie is the love of her life. One of the photos was Robert Plant, not Joe Walsh.
I agree. Stevie is the love of Stevie's life, along with fame as a musician. She has sacrificed everything for it in many ways, That being said, I think she is perhaps the greatest female rock singer ever.

He went on to marry and have 3 grown kids,and I know they’re having issues but still trying to work things out. Love her music,but she sure loves and demands attention

@@margaret513 He’s dong well now. I’m happy for him. He’s a brilliant guitarist and funny guy. One of my favorite songs is In the City that was played at the end of the film the Warriors. I remember I saw that action packed film and sat in my seat when the credits rolled. I enjoyed the movie and the song so much I didn’t want it to end. That movie revved me up and made me want to go out and fight someone! Then I remembered I don’t know how to fight so I went home. 🤣 Joes still got it and I saw him perform with the James Gang at the Hawkins Tribute concert. He still sounds and plays well! Kudos to him! Now Nicks is another survivor story. I have nothing to say about anyones love life. I’m not a gossip! The only thing I’ll say is that they were both in a fog and affected by their habits. I for one love Stevie Nicks for her voice and her music. My mom, Aunts and Uncles grew up in that time of being young and making mistakes too. I can't believe all the negative comments about Stevie in this thread, it's like everyone is a therapist these days. I just know how i felt at the time singing her soongs, and dancing with my mom to her music when i was 4, probably the only thing my mom n I still bond in is Stevie Nicks' songs, and I loved Bella Donna, every single song on it! Steve also did say it was a different world back then for a woman to be on her own, and she tried to stay with creative men that wouldn't try and domesticate her, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT WHAT SHE WANTED FOR HER LIFE! So i get it. I heard all that was the era of "Love, drugs, and rick n roll" and the hippe free love era, something i guess alot of you were never taught about or wouldn't understand 😊 I think her journey led her to stay true to herself in a man's world and she made out ok. I auditioned for a Fleetwood mac tribute band as Stevie. Got called back for the final 2 of us. Pretty much told it was mine but I changed my mind. I found it a strain to have to concentrate on mimicking Stevies voice, I realised having to do that every second I couldn't relax & just enjoy singing. No problem imitating her look I'm 5ft 2 long blonde hair, slim. Always had dresses like hers of my own anyway!
So many favorites, but I love Angel live as well as Lady of the Mountain (Sorcerer) and have a soft spot for Sara. But honestly, I love all of it!@FactsVerse

She wasn't in love. She had passion. Love is picking up his socks and making his favorite dinner even though you'd rather not. Love is saving quarters and single dollars to buy him a birthday present. And him doing the same for you, over and over again.
He lives in Thomaston Maine a hour away from where I live. I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac in 1974 in Oakland Ca. At one of the six days on the green in Oakland. I will never forget that magical day 💞
Those Day on the Green concerts were fantastic! I attended a few and wish I’d been to more of them. I and my friends were too young to drive to the first ones, so I missed a lot of them.
I've been a fan since their first album, thanks for sharing a lot of her history. I never knew. Of course, I didn't grow up in the computer age where all of this is just a finger touch away now. 😅 I knew most of it. However, there were a few things I didn't. ✌️💜
She had become the epitome of the aura she created on stage…..that mystical, dark, bewitching Gypsy that charms everyone in her path, but ultimately poisons everyone she touches. She was destined to gives us her artistic expression in her music but it doomed her private life. She paid the price of stardom…..and now she’s hopelessly lonely because of it. Sometimes you must be careful what you wish for…..
Poisons everyone she touches?! No. And she is far from lonely and doesn't need a man to feel fulfilled. She did make alot of sacrifices for her fans, band and team, and that has made a world of difference in alot of lives.

Yet many other women in music find a way to make it work? Her ego has inflated to a level that is almost intolerable. I do not deny her greatness. Her contributions to FM are most certainly what help catapult them to stardom. But her private life is messy and having an abortion showed just how selfish a person she really is, along with devising a plan to get Lindsey kicked out of FM......how did that turn out for the band?

I understand that when they were going on tour Lindsay had other commitments and wanted FM to delay the beginning of the tour. They couldn't do that so they got the lead guitarist from the Heartbreakers to take his place.
If not for Lindsey Buckingham odds are we never would have heard of her and yet she pushed him out of the band. Since he's been gone I never listen to them.
I recall the 70s when I was a little girl Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac had such a creative musical contact to everyone, I think they set the groove into a knew kindred spiritual musical sound that led her voice into that zone that they controlled and Stevie Nicks and with that voice was a maker and a heart breaker for that deep connection to melody's and her stories of talents!!!!!!
