At least one killed by powerful storms in Florida 

I woke up to seeing the rotation on the radar down there. Wishing ya'll the best. Been a crazy round of storms around the Midwest these last few weeks.

In comparison, Hurricane Ian in 2022 tore thru Central Florida from Fort Myers to Daytona and caused 161 deaths, $112B in damage to over 35K homes from severe flooding and winds. Tallahassee truthfully, hasn't been impacted by any hurricane in the last few years.

That’s really an amazing story. I’ve been to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo Tocapillo, Barranquilla, and Perdilla.

It wasn't a tropical storm. And yes they do state of emergency on storms in Florida. I have lived in Florida for over 50 years. They have been doing it for at least 40 that I know of.

A tropical storm can easily cause a state of emergency. Hurricane Ian in 2022 was downgraded to a "tropical storm" and still caused $118B in damages, 116 deaths and over 50K homes destroyed or damaged from isevere flooding, after 26" of rain poured within 18 hours throughout central Florida. Tallahassee hasn't truthfully been impacted by any hurricanes in over a few years. The last one was in 2018.

@@dmongosa they aren't reporting it but there were 1000s of deaths. After Ian. People didn't leave the Ft Myers area. We thought it was going to Tampa so did the meteorologist.
