My wife's brother and I tried detecting in a drained pond a couple of years ago, which had been emptied two weeks prior; he got stuck in the mud and I had to 'rescue' him using slats from a wooden pallet LOL! Didn't find much, aside from a ruined cell phone. Thanks for sharing! -Tim
Hahaha I thought that was going to happen to me! Once we saw how sloppy it really was we stayed very close to the shores, just in case! Thanks for sharing and commenting
That looked like fun! Cool Bracelet and Pendant. Nice amount of Lures and Weights too. I bet there's all kind of goodies in there! Too bad it's so muddy in there. Nice old school Cinderella cassette tape! I'd say Caleb was feeling that the next day lol.
I can't tell you how many times I got stuck! But there's lots laying in that mud to save! That tape is my favorite find of the day haha. As far as Caleb goes, lets just say he's never brought that day up since! A few less refreshments and he might have won $20 haha
Cool that your Lady don't mind at all playing in the Mud . You found enough gear that once cleaned up , you can go fishing . Nice bracelet find . Maybe visit that spot again when when it dries up a bit ?
Signals went in this order: a penny, a sinker, a beer can and fishing lure. Repeat. Haha! Some of the lures just need a new hook and would be very usable! We had no idea it would be so muddy as its been drained for a few weeks and very warm for this time of year but as you can see we were wrong. Still fun and plan on trying again this summer. Thanks for watching and commenting sir!
We thought maybe it would be dry enough to do some digging....WRONG!! It was dry on the surface and gave the illusion that it was going to be easy walking.....WRONG!! But we rinsed off at a nearby car wash and had some laughs so well worth it. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. We've had too much rain to go back so hopefully before the work is complete we'll get another chance to see what's there!
Looks like you guys had a great time. I don't do good in the mud. I give you guys a lot of credit for detecting there. I wonder if any of those lurers are worth anything. I think there are some that can be valuable. HH and congrats on a great day out - Jordy
Haha I seriously got stuck about 50 times. It was a good though and we really want to go back. That place was nothing but signals. To be honest I haven't researched any of those lures but should now that you mentioned it. You never know! And thank you very much for watching and commenting, HH
I hope you get to detect them! It's fun. Our schedules are complete opposites but when we do get out together it's always a good time. Thanks for watching and good luck!
you should be researching any old settlements/farms/homes/outkaw hideouts, etc that may have been covered when I hat lake was made. thatz where I'd be looking
