I have huge respect for these men! My great grandfather started working in coal mines in his teens in Cape Breton. It’s a hard job and dangerous. But it pays the bills and puts food on the table. My heart goes out to them and there families. I hope they found other work!
Guys, I too feel sorry for them , I visited this country in 2015, the countryside is way cleaner than Ulanbaatar(problem compounded in winter due to the hills surrounding the city ) , the bigger cities should switch to cleaner natural gas for heating . When I was in countryside , homes used wood for heating and the air was still cleaner , the prob is specific to ulanbaatar.
I feel for the workers, maybe the government can re train them into something else? cause they have to eat too. The air there is killing them so coal is not the answer, they need an alternative for their families.
Al Jazeera, use a translator, not captions. Most of us listen to documentaries as radio while doing other things. Captions we don't have time for, so we move on to the next video, so thus your documentary goes unwatched. Thumbs downed.
