I present my At the Speed of Light piano cover. This was a year and a half in the making, and I'm so happy to finally have a decent recording-I can finally rest my arms.
BIG thanks to the creator of the MIDI file (⁠‪@ilrell‬) and the Musescore (⁠‪@or-what‬) that I used to learn the piece. Learning this piece would have been impossible without sheet music.

@@georgepetrou501 I'd say musically, moonlight sonata is more difficult, however mechanically ATSOL was far more difficult. As with most techno, ATSOL was relatively similar across the piece, so it didn't require as much thought about dynamics, voicing, etc. But nothing can compare with the speed of ATSOL >:)

GD is just like (btw I play the piano): It is all about hitting the correct key at the right time, some songs/levels require faster hands, amazing memorization or cramps; u also can do perfectly in each, but one mistake can ruin it all. But when u finally do everything perfectly and manage to persevere, it is a feeling like no other

@@ryzikx i mean yeah if you picked it apart with a knowledge of music history i'm sure you'd find loads of red flags that mark it as a completely different time period and style. but i think it's fair to say some of the emotional gravitas and just general ~vibes~ are reminiscent of some of the true classical greats. this person clearly put an incredible amount of effort and practice into this, but if it was played by a super talented professional pianist, you could totally see it being right at home in a classical concert or recital or something

You dont need to memorize the song most pianists no matter how skilled uses a sheet for it, its already difficult as it is, having not sheet and memorizing the notes is gonna take a very long time
