A good way I found to trick and treat after adult was making a costume that had synergy with the kid's costumes. Like 3 kids doing powerpuff girls costumes and me as the professor. I didn't ask for the candy but I had my cut. If anyone asked I said I was looking after the kids (which I was technically doing). Honestly it's fun. I don't have to talk to the adults I'm more of a introvert.
