Atalanta : Pride of the Bay of Quinte 

My grandfather, Gordon Cook was raised on the wharf and sailed the Bay. My mother lent me an old book, I can't remember the name of it now but I read it and was amazed to find him mentioned in it. They built their own boats, sometimes stealing wood to do so. He ended up buying a boat, again I don't remember the name, but it went on to win some races. I will have to ask her to let me read it again. He was a hero to me growing up, for his part in the D-day invasion as a dispatch rider. To learn of his exploits sailing the Bay of Quinte before the war explained his interest when I, as a young boy, began learning to sail.
