This is great. To know that people share the same nostalgia... This game was so cool by that time, even if I remember the music a lil bit faster. Never knew what to do but went on a killing rant. Thanx one more time, Staxx.
That is correct. The sound may be coming from a PAL system. Or emulation in 50Hz PAL mode. NTSC is about 1.2x faster (60Hz). Atari 8 bit emulators have some flaws, but sound has been accurate and emulators allow using PAL mode for software you couldn't run in the US, saved states, ans a slew of other nifty features...
This was a great game, remember buying it in a Waldenbooks of all places. The weapons were shurikens and a chai, the chai would sometimes miss when thrown.
В 90 году во 2 классе, после уроков ходил в салон где стояли эти приставки и смотрел на эту игру и вслушивался в эту музыку. 4-5 часов пролетали как секунда!
Recent got my hands on an 800xl (NTSC) and a bunch of disks. This game was one of them. Among earlier this song came into my head for no reason, so when hearing it when the disk booted was something of a nice moment. The game remains as fun to play to this day.
This game was a favorite. Great game play. I have an Atari 65XE in the background playing it right now. The tempo of this RU-vid video is slower, but it captures the magic of the music. This was some of the most dynamic game music that I can recall until Westwood Studios came along (Oh wait, there was the Amiga!). Etched in my memory forever. Seriously, it is pure 8-bit genius.
Back in the mid eighties I thought this was the coolest game ever. One of my friends had Ninja Mission and Karateka. First game I can remember playing with a Ninja 🥷.
Ностальгия. На втором этаже у правой стены была возможность "переходить" еще правее через стену в т.н. "зеркальную комнату", главное было присесть где-то в районе последней линии перед стеной и вставая двинуться вправо.
Played it nearly 35 years ago, but still have "Approaching dojo" and "Approaching Takamikura" messages burned in my brain. Really liked it back then, epecially throwing knives felt almost physically correct ;-)
а ведь авторы даже не представляют сколько родительских денег было потраченно,и что есть "зеркальная комната",для этого нужно подойти к стенке,несколько раз присесть,и тогда можно пройти через стену!!!аюв общем супер игры были...
This one was a pretty cool game. It requires a bit of forethought to win. Arm yourself with throwing weapons (so you can wipe out isolated opponents at no risk to your health) and max out on health (!!!) before going to the uppermost level in which multiple opponents await to crush you. May want to pick up an idol (which restores health) right before the big battles.
играли мы как то на заброшенной стройке в войнушку. и там же из другой школы играли в ниндзей. так мы этим ниндзя люлей навешали ,ибо заброшенная стройка была нашей территорией.))
This was so funny... once you master that high flying kick you pwn everyone! This was the only game that my Dad has ever completed in his life... he's well chuffed. He completed it before I did!!! :(
I thought you were going to do it there! Excellent game, but really easy to complete after you'd done it the first time. Then the challenge came in seeing how fast you could do it. I think I completed it in under 5 minutes, or was it 4? You don't have to kill all the baddies, just collect all the idols, baddies in end-rooms with no idols at the other side can be ignored. Then you have to return to the start location.
@grisznik you have to pick up six idols on your way up, then you get the 7th idol in the top room with the blueish foes. then you return to the start screen and you're done
I have downloaded the emulator and the game rom of Ninja. But I don't know how to set it up - can anyone help me here. Pulling my hair out for the past 3 days :(
how do you beat this game? if you go all the way up, there's nothing there... no great master to fight.. and when you go down, and visit the 'rooms' you've already been in, and killed the enemies, they're there again. or there are some other enemies. depends on if you go in and fight or go in, walk out and then re-enter :P
i would rather have this 'primitive technology' than all of the primitive minds we have DEMANDING MORE AND MORE today...... people today just cant respect or understand computers...
