“None of them are slacking” AMEN lol this is why I usually end up watching each dance practice minimum 8 times, because I wanna see each individual member and how they fit into the choreography and how they put their own individual style into it as well. One of the things about them that’s amazing to me is seeing the way their dancing complements each other without compromising their own individual style (if that makes any sense lol it probably doesn’t because it’s 3:30 am [as I’m typing this] and who thinks at this hour? 🤣), which is something that I can’t say for other groups tbh. Also I agree 100% about this choreography being super demanding and the ridiculous amount of stamina and energy that they have to carry it out, and to think that they have choreography that’s even more demanding than this (Win, Wonderland and Precious anyone?). It’s mind-blowing honestly. Thank you for pointing out the footwork at 10:15! That’s one of my favorite parts of the whole choreography and honestly I still can’t believe how light on their feet they are lol the way they move through that section so quickly and fluidly (not to mention the synchronicity!) is one of my favorite parts of that whole choreography honestly. 10:52 - YESSS!! I'd be interested in seeing you react to or analyse Win or Answer choreo. Especially Win since you liked HALA HALA/say my name and the SPEED of their choreo
Ateez has a way of being strong individually but also being super strong as a group. They are very cohesive- don't know how they do it. There dancing ability has def played a part in their success- they are insane and this was only their second release.
Interesting you mentioned the reference to HALA HALA because these were actually released at the same time. Say My Name was the title track and HALA HALA was a B-Side they promoted alongside it. (correct me if I'm wrong) Also you should watch their dance for Pick It Up by Famous Dex if you really want to see them do the shoot dance hard af. It was a pre-debut release and gained them a lot of attention them.
I had never thought about it before, but I really agree with your comments on what sets ATEEZ, SVT, and ACE apart in terms of dancing: it isn't due to the strength of their main dancer but their weakest. In a recent dance ranking video I watched, the creator named Hongjoong as last in terms of skill but noted that they felt surprised to due so because he is fairly good and adds something special to the group with his dance as well. There are very few groups who can have their "weakest" (I don't share the opinion but again this is saying how insane ALL of them are for Hongjoong to be last) dancer still stand out in terms of choreography and energy. Even more importantly, it means that the choreography can be made more difficult overall, because in the end a group can't go harder than its weakest member can bare. I think that's why certain groups just have that crazy edge to them, where it looks like all the members are perfectly together doing insanely hard moves.

aaaaaah i love ateez so much, i really feel they're so unique. you're not the first person I've heard mention their incredible amount of stamina, and seeing as they tend to perform song after song and most of their choreos are very demanding, im not sure whether to be scared for them or OF them 😭😭😭😭

I personally like when there orginal song isn't played over the dance practice video because you're able to hear their steps and any noises they make (like when Wooyoung screamed) which just shows fans their character. I like when the power is saved for the M/V and live performances

seventeen has set the bar so high for me that i could never find a performance as satisfying as theirs but then i found ateez with their powerful and charismatic performances. i swear i have never been so pumped up over a performance i saw only through youtube, not even seventeen got me that hype.

A lot of ATINYs (ATEEZ's fandom) quote some of your points when talking about their dancing. My favourite part of SMN is the break (10:55). Would love it if you could react to Wonderland or Horizon dance practice as well.
I love love love hearing other performers say things like "none of them are slacking" when it comes to ateez. People rip on jongho and yeosang, saying they can't dance... .and I'm always like "okay, let's see you do it then". As a dancer myself, I am always saying, even the "worst" dancer in ateez is better than your average dancer and the skill it requires to do their choreo well, and in synch is immense.
Idk if anyone had pointed this out yet but, I just noticed in the 2nd half of the choreo that Hongjoongs shoelace came untied and so he managed to go the rest of the choreo like that and still nailed it. Thats our leader!
I am SO HAPPY you reacted to this, absolutely made my day, also lost my shit when you reacted to hala hala, ateez are my fave group in terms of dance after svt just so iconic I love their songs and their choreo just ahhhh they’re insane they’re amazing
you saying they have a lot of energy is so true, not only on stage but off stage too, off stage they're super loud and energetic and crazy and on stage they just straight up go so hard and are so explosive, like dynamite like you said, they have amazing facial expressions too, better than I've seen from other groups personally, which you'll probably be able to see better in live performances. Three of them have been called possessed as a joke because of how hard they go during performances, and it's crazy to think they're still rookies. The facial expressions are usually my favourite part of the choreography but if I had to choose it would he the move they do at 11:22, I think it's such a cool switch up to the precious two choruses where they groove upstage doing the lean.
This was a great reaction and it was really neat to see you dive into their coreo. For another video can I recommend Ateez’s performance videos 1, 2, and 3. They are so in sync and each one is more powerful than the previous one.

Ateez are fun in the way that they use the same moves in their choreos. It doesn’t make it seem repetitive though, but it adds a nice link between the songs imo. For example, if you look at the ateez performance videos from pre debut, esp number 3, you can see some of the moves in hala hala, especially when they go crazy near the end. The choreographers know what moves they do well and know when to use them without it seeming like too much too often. It’s one of the things I rly like abt ateez tbh
If you haven't already, check out their dance crew/team/idk the correct term pre-debut, "KQ Fellaz". They've got a few dance vids out and you can see they've been at this level way before debut

There is so many good songs they have.They have passion when they dance. They only been a group for a 1 1/2 and they worked so hard for fans. They have accomplished so much in a short time. Like wave is a summer song. I would really like you to react to wave or wonderland. They have different backgrounds and meaning but they are both really addicting songs. If you want to try new groups than listen to monsta x shoot out and follow. Monsta x has good songs that should be recommended. (I am also late, sorry)
