The scene where they were in white suits reminded me of their fight in their Answer: Ode to Joy perf in Kingdom. It felt like it was a glimpse of what was to happen in the future in the storyline. But this is just my personal opinion.
First of all I can't thank you enough for this reaction! You are so authentic and such a breath of fresh air! You're geeking out, humor and actual music knowledge is so refreshing! Ateez is my favorite group of all time because not only are they talented but are genuinely good people who want to be THEIR best for the group and Atiny. They always push and challenge themselves with their music arrangements and sounds, but also with their visuals and choreo. As a musician myself I can't appreciate them enough! As far as the lore, I highly recommend investing in the diary versions of their albums. I think the kid at the end is one of the twins from the lore. Seongwha and Mingi are my biases (yes I can't and won't choose lol) and I love the more rock kpop songs so this song wrecked me. Thanks for the great video!

In summary… Ateez are all just regular young adults going through their own struggles in life. They come together in their special hideout (an abandoned wear-house that makes appearances in several mv’s) and are able to forget about their pain and hardship when together through their friendship and shared dream. The boys are dealing with the pressures of adulthood and growing up, and much like PeterPan and the lost boys wish to stay young forever, escape the pressure, have fun, and make music/preform together. Unfortunately though, the boys are unable to stay together in the “real world”, or the world they live in, because their dreams are going nowhere and wind up tying them down, plus other life issues have pulled them apart. Hongjoong and the rest of the boys are all unhappy as their true dream is to be together pursuing music. Let’s just say they find a way to escape their reality together and become interdenominational-pirates (of a sort) exploring a new world, a world they CAN be together in. Though they get tangled into a lot of mess in the new world, they’re still happy to be in it together. (All of this portion is shown in the Ateez diary film, a video that showcases the very beginning of storyline ateez’s journey so I’d recommend that) We learn that Halateez Hongjoong (a Hj from a different dimension) visits Ateez Hj in a dream and gives him a device called the cromer. Hj picks up the chromer and suddenly Ateez is back together again, the members are back in the warehouse looking rather confused. Hj explains to the 7 others what he was told by Halateez Hj, that they could travel to different dimensions using the cromer. They don’t believe him in full but decide it’d be worth a try to find a dimension where all 8 of them can be together. They all willingly agree that if the cromer does work, they’ll try to escape the world they’re in, as they’re unhappy, and go to a different one together. They turn the sand clock, end up in Halateez’s dimension (called Strictland, a more dystopian and advanced version of their dimension) and soon learn that things here are very messed up. It isn’t long until some of the members regret coming and wish to get back home, however the cromer is stolen from them by the “white giants” (the dudes in all white with spiky masks) meaning they’re stuck in the Strictland dimension unless they can get the cromer back. The government here has everyone under control via a very advanced AI, meaning most people living here are stuck in a “link” that controls and dulls all their emotions, and even their voices and memories. This is because the government of Strictland believes that human emotion is a disease and the reason for all bad and uncontrollable things. They also passed a bill to ban all arts and expression, because arts enhance human emotion. We learn that Halateez had formed an underground rebellion called the black pirates, full of the people they had begun breaking out of the “link” The government spread propaganda that the black pirates are bad, and sadly Halateez got captured and caged in glass boxes by the white giants (whom the government created just to catch halateez) It is assumed that Halateez Hongjoong sensed they’d be captured soon and used his little time left to find Ateez Hongjoong and give him the cromer, hoping that Ateez would use it and find/help them. Ateez makes it to Strictland and wind up finding Halateez locked away while searching for the cromer that was stolen from them. They’re unable to break them out before getting caught by the white giant’s, but Halateez asks Ateez to continue their work and lead the black pirates in the meantime. (This is all shown in the say my name mv) Ateez is a bit divided on this, some members just want to go back to their original dimension, while others wanna stay to continue being together and help out the people in Strictland. They wind up finding the cromer again in the same building Halateez has been locked up. They’re in a tight position, and get caught by the white giants. The gaints have a hold on Yeosang and ask the rest of Ateez to hand over the cromer if they want their friend to live. In the end the cromer is turned, but falls to the ground and smashes immediately after, and while Ateez is successfully sent back to their dimension, Yeosang, who had been grabbed by the white giants, is stuck in Strictland. Ateez realize that the cromer breaking has sent them to their dimension, but in the past. They realize this was a point in time where a cromer existed in their dimension and hatched a plan to steal it, they plan to go back to Strictland ONLY to get their Yeosang back, then return home and never use the cromer again. It works out- with several difficulties along the way, including police, a cult, and a motorcycle gang. That’s all I’ll say. Either way they retrieve the cromer, use it to get back to Strictland and find Yeosang, who’s currently locked away in the same type of glass Halateez is. That’s as far as official released diary entries go not including ones from the newest album. Now it is assumed based on the trailers released for the recent cbs that Halateez and Ateez are working together (meaning Ateez decides to stay in Strictland after all) to free everyone from the “link” on a bigger scale and overthrow the government with the help of Left Eye (the man in glasses w a beard) and other black pirates met along the way. (We still dk how/if Ateez broke Yeo and Halateez out of the glass but it’s assumed they were successful because people believe they saw two different Seonghwas in the trailers) Note: There is a lot more to their lore, this is just all that’s been confirmed so far via official diary entries from ateez albums and etc. There are tons of theories about hongjoong being sus, several other solo member theories, theories about the cromer, and more. I didn’t mention theories here, only confirmed stuff, so feel free to add ur own ideas about what you think could actually be happening w the boys. There’s a ton of stuff from some of their other mvs that definitely matters but doesn’t fit with all this info we know, so there’s still a lot more we’re unsure of.

I think the Mingi rap is one of my favorites and I really love the vocals over the top of it. The flag raising shot is good. The acting makes it work. This song hits hard. Ateez stepped outside the K-pop box and took some risks but they killed it.
Oh and about the boy at the end , according to the diary entries of this album (the articles you can see in the Diary Ver. Album), he is probably a boy from the Prestige Academy (one of the best schools in Strictland, the dystopian society). And he was waken up by Ateez's performances but while he was trying to wake up his elder brother as well, his elder brother did not enjoy the feeling of "having emotions" as much as he did and he was in great pain. And since his elder brother was going to have a national exam and anyone who failed to pass the emotional test will be sent to the Guardian Island to be disposed, the little boy was afraid that what he did might get his brother caught. Hence he came to find Ateez (the scene you saw at the end of the MV) to help his brother. So basically next song might be related to how Ateez goes to wake up students in the Prestige Academy and help the little boy's brother out. If you get a diary ver album you should definitely give it a read!! The story was written beautifully!!

I remember the first time I heard Guerilla, with the preview performance, I was not hyped. But after seeing the MV I changed my mind. And I realized something. Even if you don't like the song or the group, you can not really say it's bad. I mean, the vocals, the rap parts, their dance, their prestance, their visual, the MV, the lyrics.. everything is just on point. You can see the hard work behind it. They build a huge concept since the beggining. Every songs is connected. Their music, lyrics, MV tells stories.. And I think that's what I love the most about this group. They have their universe. So I realized that, even if I don't like one of a comeback (which is never happened yet xD) I will always have a huge respect for Ateez but also for all the peoples who are with them in the shadow for their hard works. Thanks to them, we can enjoy some good stories through good music!
I agree with this 100%. Ateez is the perfect example of never having objectively bad music, it just might not be someone's style. The point of the song, as far as i understood. Its about breaking the wall of the controlled (by the strictland goverment, where any form of art and anything that makes people feel and cause any emotion is strictly forbidden), Getting them out of the controlled link is what Ateez is trying to do. So when that kid from the prestige academy came into their hideout, they basically succeeded in recruiting at least one, and one by one more people will join their movement to fell again and be alive. Also HALA HALA (Hearts awakened, live ALIVE). their message is that they don't to just exist they want to live ALIVE, be alive, feel

In the past, we have dubbed them as ATEEZ and HALATEEZ (since HALATEEZ are seen for the first time in SMN/Hala Hala) Guerrilla depicts the origins of HALATEEZ, the way they use music to overthrow the oppressive government in their universe that criminalized everything that sparks human emotions such as art, dance and music. HALATEEZ are leading a rebellion against the government (a Guerrilla, if you will😌) and are trying to “wake up” the brainwashed citizens of their world, by hacking into the government’s system to spread their music/message, or distributing flyers all across the city. The boy we see at the end could be someone that wants to join their cause! He’s wearing an Academy uniform, so perhaps he has received the message and doesn’t want his emotions to be controlled anymore! That’s what HALATEEZ are aiming for after all, to get the masses to overthrow the government. I’m sure we will find out more about the boy’s role in the next MV👀

You're the third reactor I've watched who had to stop and go back and listen to that guitar squeal a second time. 😂 On a lore level, I think the kid at the end is just supposed to be a member of HALA society who has been woken up by the music. On a real life level, I've read that kid is a KQ trainee. It'd be really neat if they started "introducing" their future boy group by having them as people woken up by ATEEZ.
You are correct about Kim Chil-Doo who was in Tomorrow as the 8, which I also loved. He was also in Record of Youth, and I watched that the other day, surprised to see him. This video was a masterpiece. I have no words. Did you watch ATEEZ's Kingdom performances? What blows me away is that the overall storyline was designed before they started, but that it is now showing up in such unique ways. A year ago on Kingdom we got the audio that now starts this song. With Section 1 on this album, we finally get the sound that began/ended Answer 2 years ago. It's just outstanding. Also, if you haven't seen it, React to the K does great song analysis. Can't wait for them to do Guerrilla, they're going to have a field day! (And if I'm not mistaken, they've pointed out Phrygian things before!) I agree with you - Pirate King is also my favorite ATEEZ song and no other title track has come close to dethroning it (HALA HALA is another fave) but this one, man. The German Expressionist style video, the Darkwave mixed with prog-metal EDM… *chef kiss* Not to say I’ve ever disliked an ATEEZ title track (Wave wasn’t exactly my style but I don’t hate it) but this genre is just my style. It hits all the right spots for me and the EP blew my nips off because THE ENTIRE THING IS THIS STYLE AND I’M SO HAPPY.

I feel the only word that can be used to describe this song and its music video, is "indescribable." No other word is capable of encapsulating the intensity of Guerrilla and so are not strong enough descriptors. Words just won't do it justice, proving that everyone should give it at least one full listen to understand what it is
You know the part with the flags in slowmotion? I think is inspired of Iron by Woodkid(+Run Boy Run) and I love it so much 😍 And the song, one of the inspirations would be Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine since it was on Hongjoong playlist last year on his baverse collab!

Ascension 😍😇 the whole album is this way though I hope you do an album reaction. I’ve never been so obsessed with a comeback ever before in my life. I got so emotional on this whole journey, the last week has been a wild ride for sure. But this project is everything I had hoped for and they went where I only dreamed KPop would ever go and I’m so glad they did it.
will you react to their album? I'm having major headache figuring out the structure like one second the chord progression is non existent but the next second the harmonics are mindblowing. This album is too artsy. It might sound messy on the first listen but if you know the lore and you read the lyrics, it’ll feel like you’re watching a musical propaganda theatrical. So I use “cinematic masterpiece” to describe guerrilla and the whole album. I want to hear your thoughts on New World and The Ring in particular 🤩

@@ThatKpopGuitarist I started from rock too so this one is definitely a game changer! Oh and a little fun fact they use dolby atmos technology to produce this album. I think that's also a noticeable break through so for songs like the ring, new world, and wdig there are so much spatial effect and honestly, using a proper headphones I was so MINDBLOWN. Can't wait to blast this on a home theater.
