ATEEZ had a great year of releases | ATEEZ - Eternal Sunshine + Turbulence + The Real Reaction 

I wanna say that Mingi, Yunho and Wooyoung all know how to b-boy since pre-debut.

so basically in The Real, Mingi is the new student, Wooyoung and San are part of the baseball club, Seonghwa and Hongjoong are part of the calligraphy club, Jongho and Yunho are part of a the biker crew/gang, and Yeosang is the rich(?) senior who represents peace the MV is about how they're all separate, thinking that they're cooler than the others and sorta competing against each other, but in reality, they realised that they are all the same, and hence unified by the end of it, the book that they hold says it's the "revised" version of "swag"/"charisma"/"coolness"

I really wish somebody would compile all of ATEEZ The Real dance breaks because all 8 members actually had a chance to do the freestyle part!

You should check out their "SBS Gayo Daejeon" performance they performed Deja vu and The real it was so stunning the whole stage,the outfits (beautiful modern hanbok), the traditional songs Mashed up whatever it was just so aesthetically pleasing. The performance was also long that san told it left him out of breath

True i tried to learn eternal sunshine i thought it wasn't that hard but just figuring put what they were hitting the moves on got me headache 😭they jump after a count in the first chorus but in the second chorus they jump right at the drop. I gave up. I found deja vu choreo easier. Im currently learning the real and the yunho chorus footwork /shuffle whatever that is so challenging but the choreo isn't that hard to figure out but still they haven't released a dance practice.

The song: 멋 is a Korean word without a direct English equivalent--real, style, and cool are attempts to catch the meaning, but it has an underlying idea of honor, so it's about how what's really cool/stylish is to be humble, respectful, and kind. Fun fact: Korean has multiple dialects with the Seoul dialect being the standard (it's what Korean language learners are taught). In the song when the music stops, the member speaks in his dialect (most Ateez members are from the countryside but have been trained to speak Seoul dialect in their content), kind of like if someone spoke with a southern drawl and the next person spoke with a Jersey accent. The video: Appears to be based on Volcano High, a popular Korean movie in 2001 about a transfer student with special powers who ends up at a school with warring factions who are trying to find a book of power. Ateez's twist--The book they find when they put their powers together is essentially a book of morality, a book about 멋. (If you want more details watch Form of Therapy's reaction). A couple of members had Covid this summer, so releases were pushed back. Also. During live stages they switched up who had a dance solo in The Real.

I guess they released Eternal Sunshine at this period because of what the song says. I don't know if the term exists in english but in french, "neige éternelle" (eternal snow) is like the snow that stays on the peak of mountains during the whole year. And so, like eternal snow, whatever the period of the year, they'll keep on shining like the sunshine of summer. I'm sure I didn't explain myself properly, sorry 😅 And concerning Mingi b-boying, I believe we saw him b-boying in some KQ fellaz videos ? I'm not totally sure but it's not a new thing. Oh, and I recommend you watch all of their performances of the Real on music shows and end of the year shows because they always change up the members who do the dance break, it's really entertaining to watch.

Yess i agree! When i watch The Real MV it's reminds me so much of Tokyo Revengers, the concept is so cool!!

A brief explanation of this MV: Mingi is the new kid and the other members are trying to recruit/intimidate him to their clubs lol (Hongjoong/Seonghwa = calligraphy club, San/Woo = softball, Yunho/Jongho - bike ‘gang’ lol). Yeosang represents peace, which is why he’s seen with all the birds and is shown eating bread, he is a ‘bird’ (symbol of peace) himself. The MV is actually based on a Korean film with a cult following ‘Volcano High’. The Real is essentially a song about being confident and true to yourself, while continuing to be kind and humble to all. Which is what ATEEZ is all about tbh! Fun fact, Digipedi also worked on Inception, Turbulence and The Real. The Real was first released on Kingdom - there may not be a dance practice but I highly recommend checking out their finale stage on Kingdom!
