The Atelier series were pretty fun on PS3. I wish these re-releases and ports weren't so overpriced. It should be $50 for all three games together, not $40 a pop.
It probably deserves this score for everyone outside a very niche audience. But I might suggest a flat 7 because of the music. I feel it has some of the best tracks of the atelier games.
Finished Atelier Totori yesterday and I'm still asking myself, what went trough the heads of the development team. Don't get me wrong: I liked the game, although the time management felt restrictive at times. What put me off most, was the fact that in some dialogues Totori's comrades and aquaintances are flat out mean and I don't get, why they wrote them that way. I don't see anything funny in an otherwise nice character suddenly turning all asshole on me/my character. Totori is not all that bright but having her getting trashed by others felt so weird and out of place. Best thing was Marc talking Totori into exploring a certain area, than revealing theres a giant robot, he wants her to take down and then casualy adding, that he fully expected them to dy in the name of science. Like what?! He is supposed to be a comrade but is A ok with getting himself and her killed for his scientific antics. Rorona was such a crybaby, always getting jealous over nothing and even Sterk remarks, that she was not that problematic when she first became an alchemist. For a wholesome, sit-back-and-relax-game those moments were so unnessecary. Who thought this was even remotely funny? And I'm not even getting started on the "Legendary Drunkard"-scene, where Tiffany gets "a little bit" to possesive of Totori and Filly.
checking out these atelier review only played Ryza. Boy do I hate time management games and if you dont know what your doing a gameover and maybe start over again is a big no for me.
