this is the method i have been using for quite a number of years and it's by far the best i have EVER found. when balanced, the reed lasts a lot longer and plays much, much better!!! it's so easy and i can get every reed to play!
I just got the system today! Thank you! Thank you! As I wrote today on fb, I've played for 24 years and today I finally know what it is like to play on a balanced reed! This in combination with the reedgeek (for the underside), which I received the day before, has changed my life! I'm on cloud nine right now! Robert Davis, from Cleveland, Ohio
The video demonstrates the effectiveness of the product and the countless uncompensated endorsements prove its effectiveness. It's very easy to learn as well (that's arguably the real genius of the product). Numerous middle school bands have their students using the ATG system....7th and 8th graders!
Many of those problems you mentioned are cleared up by balancing the reed well. And even if you do clear some of them up, unless the reed is well balanced it will not serve you the best it can. Keep refining your ability to test for balance and make sure the tip area is perfect. That will solve the vast majority of your problems.
When you purchase the ATG system your purchasing the knowledge to test and effectively balance reeds. The tools are obviously essential but the instructional DVD's and book are the most important parts of the system. The system works! The unpaid testimonials, which is what Toms talking about when he says we have no advertising budget....no paid endorsers, no advertisements in the various music merchandiser magazines, etc. the products success has been "customer driven".
I've tried the ATG and it usually works but I'm not always sure what to do just based on the sound from each side of the mouthpiece (it's not always as simple as "too hard" or "too light"; some are fuzzy, some lack overtones, some sound soggy/mushy, etc.). How does it compare to the Reed Wizard by Ben Armato?
Yes, you can order it directly from us. Just go to www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com Or write sales@ridenourclarinetproducts.com and ask for ordering in Europe.
Dear Mr. Ridenour: I purchased your system some years ago due to a strange anomaly. I would play any of my 3 saxes "normally" and then set it down. When I picked it up a few minutes later, it was unplayable. Reed felt like a brick. A few squeaks and nothing else. I ended up changing to synthetic and have played them without problems for the past 15 years. Have you heard of anything like this before? The climate here is dry (high desert), but I played here with no problems when I was touring (several decades ago). Same horns. Thoughts?
@clarinete09 Just call us at Ridenour Clarinet Product: 888 258 7845. This video was accidentally placed on this site. The clarinet site is found by putting billyboy647 in the youtube search box. The aug is amazing.
I don't recommend any. All the factories have trouble with consistency in balanced. Pick your favorite style reed and balance them for optimum results.
What would you like a close up of? Between the hundreds of online testimonials to the products quality, the unpaid endorsements of the princip in numerous major symphonies
@venskus2009 Even clarinet players have the right to defend themselves...but just give the government time and soon no one will have that right, and the only guns will be owned by the government, just like in China.
You have to pick the general style of reed you prefer---and then balance them well. They're all unbalanced to one degree or another, so none of the brands stand out over the rest.
