Do your coin buttons light up mine do not light up, unless they are turned off, and I have to turn them on somehow. Then again, my pinball table came not working. Some of the plugs inside will loose. Unfortunately, they need a better way to keep these wires from falling off.
@@PC_TV_73 I actually had a loose wire that prevented my playfield from working. I thought I got a bad table, but started following wires from power to the various boards and found a loose one. Reseated it and everything has been great since. My coin lights work also. Sorry to hear you got a faulty one; loose wires can happen and it sucks, I got lucky finding that as my problem.
Hey bill, love the review btw, as i am watching, ive noticed during your gameplay. Every single table. The ball would jump or the screen would freeze for a brief second. Was that your video capture? Or was each table actually freezing and refreshing like that?
It may just be the video. This was my first attempt at doing a 4K video, captured with my phone. So, either it's the phone's video or the rendering software I used. In my playthrough, everything looked smooth, other than what I pointed out in the review.
@@BillsRetroGamingShow ok thank God! I was watching and was like "does anyone else anyone else see this?" But that's a relief. Thanks for the awesome review, I can't wait to get my attack from Mars with ssf preinstalled
The random stutters were present on my machine on a bunch of the tables prior to the last update. Now I only ever see it very rarely when in multiball on Addam's Family if at all.
Great thorough review. Wish i had seen this 2 months ago. For me the biggest upgrade to the 4kp was the screens itself. I personally think both of the HDs screens are awful. The playfield screen on it cannot even do a red correctly, and almost loks purple. On the 4KP, everything is nice and vibrant, and the backbox actually looks like legit artwork. All in all I am very happy with the machine, and thankfully each new firmware update improves the Zen lag a little more. I didn't get the SSF (i thought I had preordered it with it, but AtGames said no) so I will be purchasing it once the kit has hopefully a 4th of July sale. :)
Normally Pinball FX in portrait mode has the table sides starting to appear and converge near the back, like an exaggerated vanishing point, noticed they cleaned that up on these with no visible side trim in the back on the screen.
@@TheForsaken30 I get it. It is a well built machine so that won't happen for a long time! Especially if you play in otg or nodded it in any way, it is an excellent product.
@@darthdorkimusprime7231The pre-sale price was 1200 for the 4k vs 800 for the HD... that's only $400 more. For 400, you get a much bigger backglass, a dedicated DMD, upgraded SOC, better sound and better OTG support. If you check the price for a custom backbox... that's 400+ already
I just cant understand how zen hasn't figured out how to optimize the games for this machine yet. They've had a lot of time at this point... just doesn't give the consumer much confidence.
Junk, save your money and go buy a real pin for just a bit more money. You’ll thank me later. The reason why the lag is so bad on the Zen tables is that those tables were original designed for real computers. The AG machine is not a real computer and has a proprietary board in it which is built with cheap hardware and basically junk. Zen will probably never be able to get their tables to work properly.
If we get bonuses at work and a Twilight Zone machine comes along I'll upgrade. What I'd do with the og ALP idk. Personally ive never thought Zen has done a good job but they have the licenses. I always turn off fake effects they do. Hope they get it together and get the gameplay where it should have already been.
So you can get a machine with Addams Family, a machine with Star Trek, a machine with Attack from Mars, etc. But you cannot get all those games on one machine - instead you get only one of the new games and you get all the old crappy games that are on the HD machine. I will wait until they have more machines.
Yes, it only comes with the one Zen table that the machine is themed for. But, you can buy the others separately once they release them. I do get your point though. It would be nice if these came with more than one of the new tables built in. That may be part of their licensing agreement with Zen though - but I'm not sure.
