Thank you for checking it out Phil! Agree, it is going to be market disrupting with most of the features that many have been wanting/adding over the past few years already built-in. Just how disrupting will depend on the price, hopefully we'll know that soon. One thing is for sure, I don't want to send it back to AtGames. They've already extended it's stay here beyond the original one week that was agreed. But at some point, I'm going to need to return it. Not looking forward to that day.

Looks, so much better than my washed out HD model. The first time I hooked up OTG and saw the greenish reds I wanted to cry lol. Can't wait to get my Addams machine. Let's just hope the 4k doesn't have OTG lag like the HD does. Hard to tell here.

I've not had any machines brick as a result of a firmware update. But, I can't predict the future only the present.

The ALP isn't going to be left behind, new tables are coming for it. Just because I bought my car in 2018, doesn't make it obsolete in 2023. It still gets me where I need to go.

Same; I was going to get one made and supply my own computer, but because the one i was using has gone kaput (literally was only able to save the graphics card, 12GB Ram sticks, SSD hard drive and CPU), that's knocked that one out of the park. I may consider getting the ALP 4k since it has a lot of the stuff I want in a pinball i.e. SSF, Solenoids, DMD etc.

Any answers to this question, at this point, is pure speculation. I honestly have no idea.

I've asked about that, but yes they only go off when hitting the flippers. With the SSF kit, it added (optional) it provides a total of 9 speakers which gives a very similar effect.

Great timing on this question, released a video earlier today on that very subject here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q0e6_9R8s7U.html . However, it doesn't discuss Nintendo Switch.

Installed VPX last night on my (new) test machine. FP worked fine in 4K, however VPX wouldn't load the included VPX table in 4K. I'll spend more time with it and see if I can figure out why. VPX is definitely one of high-interest to test. It's all configured properly here. I'll test with other tables later today/tomorrow to see if it's only the included table that is an issue.

In this v1.0 cabinet, yes. There is a v1.1/1.2 being build that may operate differently.

Haven't measured that yet, working on it in Part 3. What response time were you seeing on the ALP HD? Just curious. I literally just got it working late last night.

@@WagnersTechTalk When compared to playing any native pinball games on the ALP, or compared to playing PC pinball on a PC monitor directly... OTG had a significant delay (press a button, and delayed time when the flipper moves, etc).

Right, I had never measured the delay from the time the flipper button was pressed to the time the flipper began to move and was curious if you had. In this video, you can hear when the solenoids fire and when the flipper begins to move. I'll measure the time in Part 3 for the 4KP, but just curious if you had already performed the same test on the ALP HD and had a good baseline number for comparison (in milliseconds).

@@WagnersTechTalk It's specifically the signal output from the mainboard to the playfield monitor (when using OTG HDMI only) that is the issue. The controls are fine. It's not something I even had to "measure"... as it was very noticeable. Understand, if someone never played anything bit PC over OTG, it may not be as noticeable to them... but when compared side by side to my custom cabinet, or even just a PC and a monitor, it was very noticeable. Enough to affect gameplay.

Got it, what would you consider an acceptable response time (using Pinball FX as an example, from the time the button is pressed until the flipper begins to move), compared to your custom cabinet? 300ms, 200ms, etc. ?

Yes, there is an option for that.

For the most part, yes. In this case, the camera is not at eye-level which is far less noticeable.

You'll have the option to buy tables or use PinballNet (service). I don't have much info., at present, on PinballNet as I've not seen it yet.

@@WagnersTechTalk I read through that link and it shows a list of all "Zen Packs" that will be available to purchase and they are currently missing most of the games available on pinball FX. The only "real" games are several $15 licensed-theme Bally/Williams games (Adams, World Cup Soccer, STNNG, Twilight zone). Where are the other Bally/Williams packs (Monster Bash, AFM, MM) and Zen Studios original games (Back to the Future, Jaws)? Are they available to buy for the 4kP?

Not all are available right now, but many more are coming. It takes time to add each to Legends 4K format as that requires SSF integration, 4K artwork updates, backglass artwork, license approval, accelerometer integration, etc. If what you're looking for isn't there, definitely wait until it is. Also, there will be new cabinet announcements. If you don't see one that speaks to you, again wait. But, wanted to answer your question as it is as of now.

In Pinball FX on the ALP 4KP, the answer is yes.

Over the past 3 years I've not found one of their products to be as you describe and I've used many of them during that time. But, I appreciate your input. We've had several discussions over the years and I thank you for your support!

Price for the 4KP is not yet known. See the Q&A section at the link in the description for more questions that you have. As soon as I know the price, it will get updated.
